Bangladesh Clothing Exports To India Increased By 36.7%

According to data released by the Export Promotion Agency (EPB), fiscal year 2012-13 The People's Republic of Bangladesh Exports to neighbouring India increased by 36.7% to 75 million 213 thousand US dollars over the same period last year.

In fiscal year 2011-12, Bangladesh clothing Exports to India amounted to US $55 million.

Bangladesh clothing exports to India began to grow after the India government announced the 46 most sensitive Bangladesh textile tax exemption and quota free in September 2011.

In fiscal year 2011-12, Bangladesh woven and Knitted garment Exports to India increased by 53% over the past 2010-11 years.

Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data show that woven garments are Bangladesh's main export products to India, and export volume reached US $60 million 869 thousand in 2012-13 years.

In the 2012-13 months of July -6 months, Bangladesh knitted garments exported to India amounted to US $14 million 344 thousand.

Bangladesh is currently the largest trading partner between India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). In the 2012-13 year, Bangladesh's exports to India increased by 13.15% to 563 million 900 thousand US dollars over the same period.
