Sun Ruizhe: At Present, China's Textile Industry Is Facing Multiple Challenges.

It was announced that the theme of the Asia Textile Conference sponsored by the China Textile Engineering Society was "the new textile outlook". It will be held on October 24-26 at Donghua University, Shanghai.

At present, preparations for the twelfth Asian Textile Conference and the 2013 China Textile academic annual conference are in full swing. As of press release, the number of registrations reached 556, including 277 representatives from the mainland of China and 279 from overseas. 542 papers were abstracted.

Sun Ruizhe, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and President of China Textile Engineering Society, analyzed the challenges faced by China's textile industry in the sustainable development.

First is the challenge of demand. From the perspective of international demand, China's textile and garment exports have maintained more than 10% growth this 1~8 month, but the three major traditional export markets have declined, and the emerging markets have increased. This change has forced the export of China's textile and clothing industry. It is urgent to develop new markets while stabilizing the traditional main market share.

From the perspective of domestic demand, the growth of clothing and clothing retail sales is slower than that of social consumer goods, and online shopping is surging. The gap between urban and rural residents' clothing expenses is a challenge to the sustainable development of the industry.

Second is the challenge of carrying capacity of resources and environment. In terms of resources, the fluctuation of cotton prices in recent years reflects the dependence of industrial development on upstream resources. Last year, the total volume of polyester production in China exceeded 3000 tons, accounting for 58% of the total fiber production in the country. China's external dependence on polyester raw materials PX increased year by year, and once the problem occurred, it would have a significant impact on the industry. Sun Ruizhe pointed out that the industry should support upstream, open up resource access, and extend the industrial chain to maintain industrial safety.

In terms of the environment, the latest statistics show that the textile industry Wastewater discharge And COD emissions have ranked third in the country, and chemical oxygen demand emissions increase year by year, making energy saving and emission reduction, especially emission reduction tasks more severe and urgent. At the same time, relevant departments continue to introduce new policies. The upgrading of relevant standards and the pressure from the international community pose a challenge to the sustainable development of the industry.

The second is the challenge of policy effect and market mechanism. As an industry that was earlier incorporated into the market mechanism, the policy effect of the textile industry is also evident. China's textile industry has a complete industrial chain from fiber production to clothing processing. How to deal with fast fashion in long term? This requires the integration of innovation and market orientation to play a dual role.

In addition, labor innovation and growth of R & D investment need to increase, which will challenge the sustainable development of the industry. Technological innovation is undoubtedly the endogenous driving force for the industry to maintain growth. This also reflects the important role of this Asia Textile Conference, attracting global academic resources, providing a platform for domestic enterprises to broaden their horizons and show themselves, and promote scientific and technological innovation in the whole industry through academic exchanges and scientific research results.
