Recently, the project "development and application of flexible nonwoven materials for medical and health care" was completed by the Shandong Junfu nonwovens Co., Ltd. and the Shandong nonwoven materials engineering technology research center, and won the two award of science and technology of textile light in 2013.
The project aims at the application of nonwoven materials in the medical field, and uses raw material modification technology to control the soft structure of the polypropylene molecule by controlling the three-dimensional structure of the polypropylene molecule. The material is blended with homopolymer polypropylene and other functional masterbatches to achieve the characteristics of "soft, fine denier and high strength" in the world's most advanced melt production line, so that the softness and hydrophilicity of the products are significantly improved.
The technology has been granted 7 patents by the State Intellectual Property Office, including 4 invention patents. The overall technical and economic indicators of the project are at the leading level in China.

"SARS in 2003 has made people aware of the occupational hazards faced by health care workers, and began to use disposable nonwoven medical and health care products, and its usage has been increasing in recent years. For the main textile consumable products, the disposable products are mostly made of nonwovens. At present, many countries use more disposable surgical clothing materials, such as spinning and melting, accounting for about 70%. Project leader Chen Guanglin introduced.
Specialized medical materials require high-end nonwovens of different properties. They usually need to maximize the barriers to human exposure such as HIV, hepatitis virus and SARS virus. "At present and in the future, the quality requirements of end users for protective articles are far beyond our expectations. The comfort of surgical clothing, surgical scarf and chemical / industrial protective clothing is also very important." Chen Guanglin said. If the barrier property of products is only considered, plastic film is entirely competent. However, it is very difficult for workers to wear uncomfortable protective clothing for hours or even more than 10 hours. Therefore, medical protective clothing should have both protective and comfortable performance indicators.
According to Chen Guanglin, the medical spinning non-woven fabric has the following excellent characteristics: high filtration ability to bacteria and dust, 99% shielding; low surgical infection rate; convenient sterilization; easy to combine with other materials; appearance is even and beautiful; product quality stability is superior; soft handle, softer with finer fiber, better liquid permeability; product technical indicators can fully meet the hygienic requirements of medical protection engineering materials; physical properties are superior.

Shandong Junfu Nonwovens Material Co., Ltd. is mainly responsible for the adjustment of product trials and the development and promotion of terminal products. However, Shandong's nonwoven material engineering technology research center, which is the only engineering technology center in the field of nonwoven materials, is seamlessly butted with Jun Fu, which has great advantages in process improvement and product parameter adjustment.
It is reported that the flexible nonwoven material developed by the project is mainly used in medical products such as gauze block, hemostatic plug, mask cloth and so on. Surgical gown Bedside sheets, pillows, wound dressings, medical ointment, band aids, medical tapes, medical bandages and medical dishcloth; health products such as catering, tourism, masks, wet wipes, facial mask, underwear, sanitary napkins, sanitary pads, baby diapers, adult incontinence products, etc.
According to statistics, sales of domestic medical dressings in 2012 reached 25 billion 669 million yuan, of which domestic sales were only 5 billion 100 million yuan, and more than 80% were imported. It can be seen that the flexible nonwoven material for medical and sanitary applications developed by this project has broad application prospects.
