Hongkong Plans To Formulate Countermeasures To Deal With Financial Tsunami

Donald Tsang, chief executive of the Hongkong Special Administrative Region, said yesterday that Hongkong was planning to introduce measures to help SMEs cope with the financial tsunami.

Yesterday afternoon, Donald Tsang, the chief executive of the Hongkong Special Administrative Region, went to the Hong Kong funded enterprise, Fenggang Xingzhen hardware factory, to understand the development of the enterprises and to investigate the supporting measures.

Li Yuquan, deputy secretary and mayor of the municipal Party committee, met Donald Tsang.

At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Donald Tsang rushed from Hongkong to the Xingxing hardware factory in Yan Tian Village, Fenggang Town, and had a brief discussion with Li Yuquan, who had already arrived here.

"We want to know what we can do to help companies get through the difficulties."

Donald Tsang said to Li Yuquan, "the financial tsunami has affected the survival and development of Hongkong enterprises. The government of the HKSAR is going to formulate measures to help SMEs overcome this difficult situation."

In order to formulate measures for close service enterprises, the Hongkong SAR government went deep into the Pearl River Delta's port enterprises to understand the situation of enterprises and find ways to solve them.

Donald Tsang praised Dongguan for its efforts to help enterprises.

"Yesterday, you held a series of activities in helping Hong Kong and Hong Kong enterprises to promote root development." this is a good thing. You are very active in helping enterprises.

Donald Tsang said.

Li Yuquan said that the Dongguan municipal government will work together with enterprises to help enterprises tide over their difficulties.

He hoped that in the process of research and development of enterprises, Hongkong found problems or worthy of improvement, and feedback to Dongguan.
