Nigeria Industry Demands Restrictions On Chinese Textiles

According to fibre2fashion, a few days ago, the Nigeria Manufacturers Association and Nigeria Textile Manufacturers Association jointly asked the government to take restrictive measures on Chinese textiles.

In the forum held by the National Textile Federation, the tailor's Garment Association and the Friedrich Ebert foundation, the above requirements become the main topic. Chinese textiles are often labeled as "made in Nigeria" and are misled by consumers after Nigeria manufacturing, which will affect the development of domestic industries.

Paul Olarewaju, executive director of Nigeria Manufacturers Association, said that these textiles and clothing have monopolized Ibadan, Kano, Lagos, Niger Republic and Onitsha areas, limiting the development of domestic industry.
