In fact, Chinese shoes are being tested by foreign consumers at all times. According to statistics, in 2007, the number of finished products exported to China amounted to 8 billion 177 million pairs, accounting for about 73% of the total export volume of the world.

At present, due to the problems of labor, safety and environmental protection, China's export footwear products have caused foreign technology trade restrictions, which has affected the export of footwear in China to a certain extent.

"With the deepening of the financial tsunami, more and more stringent environmental and technical standards are being introduced abroad. Therefore, enterprises need to closely follow the changes in product quality and safety standards."

For this reason, experts from the Ministry of Commerce and other experts have compiled the "practical handbook for quality and safety of export footwear", which enables Chinese enterprises to understand the latest changes in the relevant standards of footwear abroad, enhance their ability to cope with technical barriers, and reduce the cost of enterprises, which is more conducive to the entry of shoe enterprises into foreign markets.

The practical handbook of export footwear quality and safety is divided into 12 chapters. It covers 3 years' prediction of China's footwear products international market, summarizes the standards for the inspection of the quality and safety of footwear exported to China, the relevant technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures of the major markets in the United States, the European Union and Japan, the quality management system established by domestic footwear enterprises, and the measures and suggestions to deal with technical barriers to trade, which has a strong guiding significance for footwear export enterprises.

As one of the publishers of the manual, Song Xiushun, director of the inspection and supervision department of the AQSIQ, said that the handbook will not only provide technical services for the export enterprises to organize production in accordance with foreign technical regulations and standards, but also enhance the capability of independent innovation, improve product grades and added value, implement brand strategy and provide sustainable development ideas.

In addition, in order to facilitate more enterprises to understand and use, the Ministry of commerce foreign trade division and China Light Industry Arts and crafts import and Export Chamber of Commerce will also issue the "export footwear quality and safety Practical Handbook" on the website.

At the same time, the China Light Industry Crafts Import and export chamber will also hold a series of training activities on "export footwear quality and safety" in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian and other footwear producing areas to promote the comprehensive upgrading of the quality and safety of footwear in China.

According to the industry, the "Handbook" issued by the Ministry of Commerce has pointed out the direction for China's shoe enterprises. It calls on the Chinese footwear industry to take the right path. It requires China's footwear industry to take the initiative to upgrade the industrial structure, improve the quality of products, enhance the independent innovation capability of the whole industry, implement the brand strategy, and promote the pformation of industry from scale expansion to quality win, so as to achieve sustainable development.
