Wujin Warehouse Fire Millions Of Dollars Damaged Cotton

On the afternoon of 9 July, a nearly 500 square meter warehouse was caught fire in a large textile machinery factory in Ming Huang, Wujin Town, Hutang.

After the fire, 3 fire squadron more than 10 fire engines rushed to the scene to fight the fire. As of yesterday afternoon, 5 pm, the scene was extinguished, the fire department estimated that the clean-up work will continue until this morning.

The reporter arrived at the fire scene at 3 p.m., and traffic control was implemented near the Changjiang Road. At the west wall of the giant textile machinery factory, more than 10 firefighters were holding 2 water cannons to "impact" the warehouse.

The reporter saw that the whole warehouse was made of color steel tiles. Because of the internal fire, the color steel tile had begun to crack and deform, and through a number of damaged parts, we could see the dense cotton bags and raging fires inside.

Even in the 20 meters away from the fire wall, reporters can still feel the heat wave rolling.

At 3:45 in the afternoon, the color steel tile on the west side of the warehouse suddenly collapsed and the fire burst out of the warehouse.

According to witnesses, the fire occurred at around 1:40 p.m., when the fire started from the eastern side of the cotton warehouse. The workers quickly found fire fighting after the discovery. The fire was too big and there was no water nearby, and the whole storehouse was soon ignited.

According to people familiar with the matter, the warehouse where the fire broke out belonged to Qun Da textile company, which was stacked with American cotton imported by the company.

At present, the specific causes and losses of the fire are still under investigation.

The fire department reminds us that new year's day and Spring Festival are coming, and the climate is dry in winter. Enterprises, especially cotton textile enterprises, must not relax their vigilance and deal with key management such as warehouse and fire prevention, so as to prevent unnecessary losses.
