Jinjiang Wants To Build China'S First Sports City

Yesterday morning, the 2008 national sports development strategy seminar opened in Jinjiang.

At the symposium, Zhang Yongning, the Standing Committee of the Jinjiang Municipal Committee and propaganda minister, made a keynote speech to "build China's first sports city", revealing the goal and preliminary idea of building Jinjiang into a modern sports city with international influence.

Zhang Yongning said, "Sports City" is a comprehensive concept, including industry support system, service system, tournament system, cultural system and so on.

Zhang Yongning revealed that Jinjiang will initially achieve the goal of "China's first sports city" through "promoting sports life", "bigger and stronger sporting goods industry", "building national sports competition center", "strengthening cooperation with talents in sports training and training bases" and "promoting sports city brand".

It is understood that as an important sporting goods manufacturing base in China, sports products in Jinjiang include sports shoes, sportswear and sports equipment. After winning more than 10 national level brands such as the "world jacket capital" and "China Shoes Capital", Jinjiang, the brand capital, was awarded the "Jinjiang national sports industry base" in December last year. It became the third Chinese city to win the honor after Shenzhen and Chengdu, and is the first county-level city to date.

The State General Administration of sports has chosen Jinjiang as a pilot city for the national sports industry base. What we want to see is that Jinjiang has a perfect sporting goods industry chain.

The State Sports General Administration has said that Jinjiang has a solid economic foundation, well-developed sports industry, superior policy environment, outstanding cultural and geographical advantages, and good conditions for the development of sports industry.

After more than ten years of development, Jinjiang has gradually developed into a sports industry gathering area with the core of sporting goods manufacturing and sales, a large scale of brand enterprises, and a distinct sports industry.

After the establishment of the national sports industry base in Jinjiang, the Jinjiang municipal government established the axis of "sports goods industry -- the national sports industry base - China Sports City", and made the sports city with international influence as its development goal.
