Affected by the sharp drop in prices of foreign raw materials and resource products, the volume of imports from our province in recent years has soared.

Fujian inspection and Quarantine Bureau statistics show that from 1 to February this year, the Fujian area inspected 723 thousand and 700 tons of imported crude oil and the value of goods was 234 million US dollars, up 109.96% and 0.74% respectively over the same period, 871 thousand and 200 tons and 56 million 420 thousand U. s.dollars of imported iron ore, 248.01% and 38.14%; imports of leather 9481.26 tons, 14 million 439 thousand and 700 dollars, growth and decline.

It is understood that since last July, the prices of various industrial raw materials have gradually stabilized after a long period of sustained price declines and significant reductions in imports.

In February this year, the import of pickled cowhide from Jinjiang port dropped to US $30~40 / Zhang from the same period last year, and some of the cowhide even traded at $28 per sheet, or more than 50%, while the raw material of waste plastics dropped to 450~550 US dollars / ton from last year's same period to 300 US dollars / ton left right.

Many Fujian enterprises seize the opportunity of lower prices of international mineral products and expand their imports and reserve raw materials when the domestic market demand has not yet fully recovered.
