The US Department of Commerce issued a statement announcing two results of trade remedy investigations in China. According to the statement, the US Department of Commerce initially decided that the 53 foot dry cargo container imported from the mainland of China would be subsidized and would notify the US Customs to impose a corresponding deposit on the above products. At the same time, the US Department of commerce also decided that dumping of monosodium glutamate imported from China and Indonesia would impose anti-dumping duties on producers and exporters of related products.

In response to the US Stoughton Towing Co complaint, the US Department of Commerce launched anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on 53 foot dry goods containers imported from China in May 14th this year. According to the US procedures, the US Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission will make a final ruling in February and March respectively.

For the trade remedy survey of monosodium glutamate products, the US Department of Commerce issued a statement that the dumping margin of Chinese manufacturers was 8.30%~8.32%, which was significantly lower than the dumping margin of 52.24%~52.27% identified by the US Department of Commerce in May.

The statement said that the US Department of Commerce will notify the US Customs to collect the corresponding margin for the manufacturers and exporters of the above products according to the final dumping margin.

In response to complaints from Japan's North American company, the US Department of Commerce launched anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on MSG imported from China and Indonesia last October.

According to the US trade remedy policy, whether or not the final anti-dumping duty will be imposed will be decided by another federal agency, the US International Trade Commission. According to the latest schedule, the International Trade Commission will make a final ruling in November 2014.
