Wei Wei, director of Jiangsu Lihua Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., told reporters that before the start of the old clothes recycling project, they signed a supply agreement with a newly operated and regenerated processing enterprise in Zhejiang, where all the recycled clothing could be pported to the enterprise for recycling.

Unexpectedly, the recycling processing company said last month that after a period of trial operation, they found that the cost of reprocessing of old clothes was too high, and repeatedly decided to suspend the recycling of old clothes in Nanjing.

It is understood that only two regenerative processing enterprises in Xuzhou and Yancheng are in Jiangsu province. Wei Wei and his contacts learned that the two enterprises were recycling down and wool products respectively, while 90% of the 15 tons of old clothes in Nanjing were cotton products and chemical fiber products.

Since then, he has been in touch with two enterprises in Wenzhou and Shaoxing. Shaoxing's enterprises say that the local enterprises are "enough to eat" and will not buy any old clothes in the field, while Wenzhou enterprises have low quotations. Wei Wei said that if they cooperate with them, the company will not be able to make ends meet.

Take chemical fiber products as an example, recycled processing enterprises look at the quality of clothing, and the bid price ranges from 600 yuan to 3000 yuan / ton, while the utilization rate of old clothes is generally only five or six. This means that even if 15 tons of clothing have 10 tons of chemical fiber clothing, the recycling company can only earn 18 thousand yuan at most, removing the pportation cost of 5000 yuan / vehicle, and it is difficult to support the operation cost of 20 thousand yuan / month.

The head of the garbage sorting office said that when the company first introduced the old clothes in Nanjing, it wanted to explore new ways for urban waste reduction.

Recycling of old clothes is also a new industry in the whole country. The whole development is still at the primary stage, especially the downstream enterprises are generally immature and lack of industry norms.

For these 15 tons of old clothes, they have urged the recycling companies to find the downstream processing enterprises as soon as possible.

According to the briefing, there are 2 old clothing recycling enterprises intending to enter the Nanjing market in the near future. At that time, the Urban Management Bureau, the development and Reform Commission and other departments will further improve the enterprise access mechanism, strictly examine the qualification, improve the access threshold, and provide the necessary supporting services to them as far as possible.

The recycling and processing of old clothes are in the "extensive" stage at present. How can we embark on a fine and healthy development path?

Geng Qinyu said that compared with the United States, Britain, Holland and other countries, our old clothes recycling process started late and the technology level was low.

There are only more than 30 regenerative processing enterprises in the country, and there are no more than 10 enterprises with a full set of production facilities.

She said that the regenerative processing of old clothes is different from raw materials and properties, and the processing methods are different. Each regenerated processing enterprise can only handle 1 to 2 kinds of fabrics at most.

For example, the processing plants in Ningbo and Shaoxing concentrate on refining chemical fiber products, while Wenzhou's processing plants mainly process cotton products, and factories for extracting wool and down are in Jiangyin and Yancheng, while the factories for refining acrylic fibres are located in Shijiazhuang area.

At present, the composition of the market is complex and the main component is blending. This also increases the difficulty of refining the enterprises.

"Most domestic regenerative processing enterprises have abandoned the refining of recycled fiber, making high-end products such as polyester staple, and turn to produce low-end products such as mops and rag.

According to Geng Qinyu analysis, the technology level of old clothes refining is not high, so it is difficult to form large-scale production, resulting in the high cost of refining, and the price of recycling will not go up, which will have a negative impact on the development of the old clothing recycling industry chain.

Geng Qinyu said that when she was doing academic exchanges in Holland, she learned that the EU had spent tens of millions of euros on the research and utilization of recycled fibers.
