According to the data provided by the Municipal Commission, there are more than 3800 garment processing enterprises in Chongqing, but only 200 households are formed.

These garment processing enterprises either rent farmers' houses for factories or rent farmers' land to build temporary factories.

Not only lack of designer connections

Chen Shangfu, Secretary General of the Chongqing apparel industry association, said that the demand gap for skilled workers in the local clothing industry is at least 1/3.

Small scale and weak brand influence are the unavoidable situation of Chongqing garment industry. Can cooperation with Korean clothing industry solve the fundamental problem?

Chen Shangfu said that although the experience of the Korean clothing industry can help upgrade the clothing industry of Chongqing to a certain extent, Chongqing's clothing industry should also solve the problems of homogenization of industrial clusters and obsolescence of industrial policies.

Ai Wanzhong, deputy director of the Municipal Commission of letters and commissions, also said that the City Commission is now redeploying the industrial platform according to the characteristics of the textile and garment industry's labor intensive, and plans to build 5 garment industrial bases in Banan, Yubei, Wanzhou, Jiangjin and Hechuan in the next 5 years.

"Through the building of these five major bases, Chongqing clothing industry is expected to spend about 20 billion yuan in exchange for about 50 billion yuan of income."
