By 1999, after 12 years of hard work and hard work, Wenzhou's shoes, especially several leading companies such as AOKANG and Kangnai, have developed very well.

In 1999, I came to Wenzhou for the first time.
At that time, the meeting of the director general of the National Light Industry Department was held in Zhejiang.

I remember Jiang Jufeng, Secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee (the last governor of Sichuan province) and mayor Qian Xingzhong, mentioned in our talks that the output of Wenzhou shoes has reached 600 million pairs. Can we name Wenzhou a "Chinese shoes capital"?
At that time, I was thinking about this problem, and I also strongly supported this idea.

Moreover, not only has the domestic market, but also the international market, more importantly, look at the development of stamina, with scientific and technological support, shoes must have technical content.
At that time, I discussed with Xu Yong, chairman of China Leather Association, to set up several conditions for "China Shoes Capital".
After several years of hard work, we have applied for it. We organize experts to conduct examination and evaluation.
Only by reaching the standard can we name it.
From 1999 to 2001, Wenzhou made it through more than two years of hard work, and Wenzhou shoes were very famous in the society.
In 2001, the footwear industry in Wenzhou reached the requirements through expert review. Wenzhou finally won the honorary title of "China Shoes Capital".
After every review, Wenzhou not only met the requirements, but also made continuous progress and improvement in many aspects.
From 2001 to 2013, after 12 years of hard work, from 600 million pairs of shoes in 2001 to 1 billion 300 million pairs of shoes now, the growth rate has reached 117%, and the output value has increased from 30 billion yuan to 85 billion 200 million yuan, with a growth rate of 84%.
In the meantime, not only the domestic market share has been increasing, but also the international market share is improving.
Exports rose from 794 million US dollars to US $5 billion 156 million now, with a growth rate of 588%.
In addition, there are other honors. The whole industry has 3 Chinese export brands, 3 Chinese brand products, 3 Chinese export inspection free products, and 82 well-known trademarks in China.
The national light industry sector has 215 distinctive regions, of which 65 are in Zhejiang, accounting for nearly 1/3, and 8 in Wenzhou.
There are more than 300 prefecture level cities in the whole country, with a characteristic area averaging less than one prefecture level city, while Wenzhou has taken 8.
This shows that Wenzhou's shoe and leather industry has made great efforts in deepening reform, restructuring, upgrading and upgrading, strengthening management and improving quality, and has made brilliant achievements. Among them, 827 million pairs of leather shoes account for 50% of the world's 1 billion 659 million pairs of shoes.
In the about 13000000000 pairs of shoes, exports amounted to 10 billion 70 million pairs, and the world trade volume was 12 billion 200 million pairs, that is, our exports accounted for 82% of world trade.
The export sales of our shoes are US $43 billion 360 million, and the total volume of world trade is US $98 billion 700 million, accounting for 44%.

From these data, we are already a big producer of shoes, but from sales and efficiency, we are not yet a powerful country.

Therefore, we are only big countries, and we can not speak of strong countries. This is the goal of our efforts.

I think the shoemaking enterprises in Wenzhou should develop better.
First of all, the quality of our staff.
Including management, business, technology, design and front-line staff, we all have to work hard.
We should make good use of the China shoes capital technology research center, personnel training center and Wenzhou University, and train all kinds of talents in a planned and high standard way.
At the same time, enterprises should catch fashion elements and serve for design.
Not only should we use modern intelligent tools such as 3D computers for design services.
What's more, our designers should go deep into reality and understand the changes of fashion elements and consumers' needs at home and abroad.
All enterprises should establish their own R & D centers; the mode of operation and production management should be integrated with the excellent performance management mode; the process and equipment of production shoes should be independently innovating on the basis of introducing digestion and absorption, and gradually achieve digitalization and intellectualization, and the most important thing is to master core technology.
We should give full play to Wenzhou's advantages and build a state-level green leather tanning base.
Now, the skin we need every year, 50% is imported, not enough to apply, and we need to import 190 thousand tons of finished leather, about 2 billion 800 million dollars, and 810 thousand tons of semi-finished leather, about 1 billion 650 million dollars.
