Pakistan Tanner Will Promote Bilateral Trade With Leather In Turkey
Murat Mustu, a commercial counselor in Turkey, participated in a conference hosted by Pakistan leather Merchants Association in November 18th.
He said at the meeting,

The seventh round of negotiations on preferential trade agreements with Turkey will be held soon.
The counsellor expressed his intention to promote the leather tanning business in Pakistan.

The conference was chaired by PTA chairman Muhammad Musaddiq for the first time in Lahore, and the venue of Karachi was hosted by Gulzar Firoz, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
At the meeting, Firoz mentioned that the total value of leather and leather products exported to Pakistan in fiscal year 2012-13 was 23 million US dollars, compared to that in Turkey.

The total import value of leather and leather goods in the same period was lower than 684 million.
Muhammad said the Turkey government has removed the requirements for laboratory testing of leather imported from Pakistan.
He stressed that some key issues should be solved if we want to increase trade between the two countries.
