Interview With Shoe Designer Jimmy Choo

In a previous interview with LM, Jimmy once expressed her desire to open a restaurant in London and display her shoes in the dining room window. Now this concept has been transplanted to this cross-border coffee shop - Caf. With regard to the prospect of cross-border cooperation and the idea of fashion design, let's listen to what Jimmy says.

Jimmy Choo: shoes In general, we usually refer to some fashion magazines for the collocation of clothes. Different shoes can wear different tastes. In my eyes, there is no difference between shoes in fashion and clothes and bags. In clothing matching, shoes often play the role of finishing the finishing touches.

Jimmy Choo: online shopping is getting more and more popular both at home and abroad, which is a good sales channel. But everything is too fast. We need to be very careful in doing business. We need to communicate more details, and the goods we sell must be good enough.

Jimmy Choo: in foreign countries, many designers have their own coffee shops, and then display and sell their clothing in the shops. That's a good idea. Young people get together to chat and drink coffee while they can enjoy good clothes and shoes. But a good environment is very important. Caf is neat and clean and well designed. I have a lot of requirements for the environment. Such cross-border cooperation has been done abroad for many years, which is good for brands and for coffee shops.

　　 Reporter: we know that the brand name of Jimmy Choo has already been sold. Only when you run your own Jimmy Choo Couture Workshop, do you design the shoes displayed by Caf now?

Jimmy Choo: the shoe displayed by Caf is Jimmy Choo's chief design consultant, not designed by me.

　　 Reporter: Jimmy Choo Couture Workshop now how do you operate? How to inherit handicrafts?

Jimmy Choo: there are many of my students. I give them time to study and train, to see how the masters do in the workshop, and then follow the master to learn. Mr. Ma Tao, President of IKA, has plans to open a design institute in Guangzhou, inheriting the skills in this field, and introducing foreign experience and knowledge into the mainland. Students from the mainland can combine foreign advanced production techniques to have more opportunities and experience to grow.

　　 Reporter: what kind of quality do you think of young people who have dreams of fashion design in the current environment? What kind of suggestions do you have for them?

Jimmy Choo: what is needed by young people is very important. It is patience. They must not do things by halves and work hard. Modern people can not accept one thing or accept criticism from others. It is a very important principle to listen to today's opinions and not to drag on tomorrow.
