Australian Wool Production Will Be Reduced By 332 Million Kilograms In 2016 Compared With 2015.

As sheep and lamb slaughtering rates increase in the current quarter, the number of sheep may be further reduced, so the Committee expects that wool production in fiscal year 2016 will be 2.7% to 332 million kilograms lower than in 2015, Australia.

In the next quarter, the number of sheep in Australia may be 3.5% to 69 thousand and 100 fewer than the first quarter of this year.

Pattinson said that although the number of sheep in Australia will drop slightly this year, the production situation of several wool producing areas in Australia is better. The average raw wool output of single sheep will increase.

The wool producing areas with better production conditions include Southern Xinzhou, northern Nan'ao and some parts of Victoria.

Australian wool Inspection Bureau (AWTA) data show that in the first 9 months of 2015, the production of wool with fineness of 17.5 microns and below was reduced, fineness of 18~19 micron, 22~23 micron and wide wool (fineness of 27 microns).

The result has been improved.

The average fiber diameter has increased by 0.2 microns so far.
