Haikou: Innovating The New Format Of "Big Convention And Exhibition" Industry

The development of any industry needs a more perfect system and mechanism to restrict it and serve it. The exhibition industry is no exception.

June 6, 2012 is a special day to commemorate the development of Haikou's Convention and exhibition industry.

With the support of Haikou municipal government, the first convention and Exhibition Bureau of Haikou, the Haikou Convention and Exhibition Bureau, was set up on that day.

The establishment of the Haikou Convention and Exhibition Bureau marks a powerful step towards healthy and orderly development of the industry.

Haikou municipal Convention and exhibition bureau is an important leader under the direct leadership of the Haikou municipal Party committee and municipal government.

The competent authorities shall exercise the comprehensive functions of the government in the management, service, support, research and operation of the exhibition industry.

The central work of the conference and Exhibition Center is to focus on the strategic development of Haikou and the need of "pformation and development" in Haikou, to serve the development of advantageous industries in Haikou and to serve the image of marketing cities and international tourist islands. Through the mode of "government led and market operation", we should further integrate resources, standardize management and concentrate on fist and strengthen the exhibition industry in Haikou.

Through constantly strengthening management and improving service level, we will introduce, support or hold key exhibitions, provide services for the exhibition industry, develop various exhibition activities, carry out domestic and foreign exchanges, and promote the coordinated development of Haikou's economy and trade.

Since 2012, the Haikou Convention and exhibition industry has won the Golden Dolphin award of the "Oscar" (exhibition) brand city for two consecutive years, and has entered the Chinese brand exhibition city for two consecutive years.

Especially in 2013, after the introduction of the eight Central regulations, facing the complicated and changeable economic situation, the Haikou exhibition industry responded positively, took the initiative to change, and went against the trend. The annual scale meeting and exhibition activities were completed 223 times, and a beautiful answer was handed over.

As early as 2008, the Haikou Municipal Committee made a plan to speed up the development of modern service industry, put the exhibition economy in the important position of Haikou's economic development, and made clear the goal of the development of MICE economy.

In 2009, the Haikou municipal government issued special opinions on accelerating the development of Haikou's Convention and exhibition industry. It decided to set up a leading group for the coordination and management of MICE industry, and set up the Haikou exhibition industry coordination management office, which is responsible for the unified management and coordination of the exhibition industry in Haikou.

A number of powerful exhibition enterprises in China, such as CIEC-China International Center Group Co, Italy Milan exhibition company subsidiary, China Expo exhibition Limited by Share Ltd, have been stationed in Haikou.

Since the establishment of the Haikou municipal Convention and Exhibition Bureau in June 2012, the Haikou municipal government has arranged not less than 20 million yuan a year to support the development of the exhibition industry, laying the foundation for the development of the MICE industry.

Haikou Convention and Exhibition Bureau has intensified its efforts in attracting exhibitions and exhibitions, and has taken many trips to Beijing, Dalian, Wuxi, Guangzhou and other places to take the initiative to contact with large scale exhibition companies of national trade associations and domestic first tier exhibition cities, and promote policies and measures to encourage the development of mice industry in Haikou, and has achieved remarkable results.
