According to Shantou customs statistics, in the first quarter of this year, Guangdong Eastern Enterprises (including Shantou, Meizhou, Shanwei, Chaozhou and Jieyang 5 cities) exported textile and clothing (including textile yarn, fabrics and products, clothing and accessories two categories of products) 5 billion 30 million yuan, an increase of 6.8% over the same period last year, accounting for 20.8% of the total export volume of Shantou Shantou enterprises in the same period.
The dominant position of private enterprises is further strengthened.
According to reports, in the first quarter, the textile and clothing export of enterprises in Shantou customs area showed 4 characteristics.

In the first quarter, Shantou exported 2 billion 500 million yuan of textile and clothing, an increase of 7.5%, accounting for 49.7% of the total value of textile and garment exports in Shantou during the same period. Jieyang exported 1 billion 820 million yuan, an increase of 20.9%, accounting for 36.2%.
In the same period, the export of textile and clothing in Shanwei and Chaozhou showed negative growth, and the export of textile and clothing in Meizhou was less than 100 million yuan.
The internal driving is more obvious.
On the one hand, in the first quarter, Shantou customs enterprises exported 4 billion 380 million yuan of textile and clothing in general trade mode, an increase of 13%, accounting for 87.1%, accounting for 4.7 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
On the other hand, the dominant position of private enterprises in export is further enhanced. In the first quarter, Shantou's private enterprises exported 3 billion 550 million yuan of textile and clothing, an increase of 15.5%, accounting for 70.6%, which accounted for 5.3 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
Exports to Europe and America surpass Hongkong.

In the first quarter, the export clothing and accessories of enterprises in Shantou customs area increased by 9.4%, accounting for 88.2%, of which 4 billion 440 million were mainly exported to the European Union, the United States, Hongkong and the United Arab Emirates. The four share accounted for nearly 6 of the exports of similar products, with the exception of Hongkong, the other three growth rates were higher than the overall increase.
Over the same period, exports of textiles, yarns, fabrics and articles were 590 million yuan, down 9%, mainly exported to ASEAN and Hongkong, accounting for 6 of the total proportion of the same products.
Good policy and double drive for European and American markets
Under the joint action of favorable policies and the warming of European and American markets, the growth of textile and clothing exports in Shantou in the first quarter will be promoted.
On the one hand, measures such as stabilizing foreign trade and promoting growth were gradually put into place. In May last year, the general office of the State Council issued some opinions on supporting steady growth of foreign trade, and local governments also issued a series of implementation measures. All kinds of policies have effectively boosted the confidence of enterprises and the market. In addition, in December 31, 2014, the state issued the notice on adjusting the export tax rebate rate of some products, clearly improving the export tax rebate rate of some textiles and garments, easing the export pressure of textile and garment enterprises.
According to customs statistics, in the first quarter, the export tax rebate rate of enterprises in Shantou customs area increased by 420 million yuan, up 16.3%.
On the other hand, the European and American consumer market has been driving the growth of the textile and clothing industry in Europe and the United States in the European and American consumer markets, and the growth rate has been higher than the total. This year, the sustained recovery process in Europe and the United States has stimulated consumer demand to rise. According to statistics, the US consumer confidence index rebounded to 101.3 in March following the fall in February. The initial value of consumer confidence index rose sharply in March and continued to rise in February. It has reached a new high since July 2007. According to customs statistics, the export value of textile and clothing enterprises in the Shantou area in the first quarter to the European and American markets amounted to 1 billion 590 million yuan, up 18.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 31.7% of the total value of textile and garment exports in the Shantou area in the same period.
Speed up the diversification of foreign trade subjects
Export products are still subject to trade barriers, and the quality of products is still rising.
In the first 13 weeks of this year, 320 products, including 64.8% of the total notification, were issued in the product notification issued by the European non food quick warning system (RAPEX), of which 45.3% were toys and clothing products.
