The quality of the textiles used repeatedly has been inspeced by law enforcement. Judging from the inspection results, the overall quality of public textiles in hotels and hospitals in our city is worrying.

A total of 107 batches of public textiles were surveyed, involving 4 varieties of bedsheets, bath towels, pillowcases and quilt covers. Among them, 45 batches of them met the standard requirements, accounting for 42.1%, and 62 batches which did not meet the standard requirements accounted for 57.9%.

62 batches of unqualified samples were all unqualified for pH value.

The pH value is partial alkalinity, and the main reason for the alkalinity is the use of a detergent with high alkaline and high bleaching effect. The washing is not thorough, resulting in the pH value exceeding the standard.

The pH value is the index indicating the degree of acid-base of textiles, and is the quality and safety index stipulated by the national mandatory standards.

The pH value of human skin surface is weakly acidic. If the pH value exceeds the standard, it will damage the barrier of human body surface against disease and destroy the balance mechanism of human skin, which is likely to cause skin itching and other diseases.

The problem of public textiles is mainly due to the outsourcing of some hotels, hotels and hospitals to some non-standard washing factories which use low cost detergents. The main reason is that they did not carry out the three rinse and did not add neutralizer as required.

Some non-standard washing plants use less expensive detergents. This detergent contains more alkali. Some washing plants also reduce rinse times in order to save water.

The city's Bureau of inspection and Quarantine will intensify its inspection. It has ordered the relevant hotels and hospitals to be rectify within 7 days, and will be reviewed after 7 days. If there are still problems, administrative penalties will be imposed in accordance with relevant regulations.
