The Shanghai Textile Museum Holds The Exhibition Of "Art Works By Huras Xiu Jie"

"The Prairie Wind and the national sentiment - the art exhibition of Huras Xiu Jie" was opened at the Shanghai Textile Museum.

The exhibition is co sponsored by the Textile Museum and the Heilongjiang Provincial Museum of nationalities and the Shanghai Museum of art.

Hu Xiujie (Huras Xiu Jie), a folk artist of Daur nationality, was born in April 1955 in Xingan Meng, Inner Mongolia, and graduated from the Department of fine arts of Inner Mongolia Normal University in 1977.

In the spring of 1995, she found herself suffering from cancer.

But the pain of her illness never allowed her to give up her pursuit of national art.

With her full love and sense of responsibility, she devoted all her life to life, her attachment to the grassland and her love for her hometown with her indomitable spirit and extraordinary perseverance.

The vast and fertile prairie of Hulun Buir is the cradle of countless life, and also the spiritual home of the Daur, Mongolian, Oroqen and Ewenki peoples.

Decades of grassland life experience, grandmother and mother's artistic influence, combined with the understanding and pursuit of national culture and art, Hu Xiujie merged Daur folk sewing art and modern arts and crafts to create a unique handicraft art -- sewing cloth painting.

One stitch and one thread, she created more than 120 pieces of cloth paintings with a total length of more than 180 meters, and became the fourth batch of intangible cultural heritage projects in Dazhi nationality in Inner Mongolia since 2013.

Her works are vigorous, atmospheric, simple and lifelike, depicting the unique customs and long history and culture of the steppe people, reflecting the bold and unconstrained personality of the northern minorities and expressing their infinite yearning and longing for life.

Sewing cloth art is one of Daur traditional folk arts, and has a long history.
