Among them, the planned cotton planting area in Akesu, Bazhou, Changji and Turpan is 7 million mu, 2 million 884 thousand mu, 1 million mu and 210 thousand mu respectively.

According to statistics from relevant institutions in Xinjiang, the cotton area in Changji is the largest.

In 2014, the cotton planting area in Changji was 2 million 40 thousand mu. In 2016, the planned area of cotton planting was controlled at 1 million mu, compared with that in 2014, the decrease was about 50%.

Bazhou cotton planting area decreased by the second.

According to the data of the agricultural sector of Xinjiang autonomous region, the cotton planting area in Bazhou was 4 million 709 thousand mu in 2014, and the planned cotton planting area was controlled at 2 million 884 thousand mu in 2016, which was 38.8% lower than that in 2014.

Although the area of cotton planting in Bazhou is not the largest, it is the largest area in Xinjiang.

In 2015, Bazhou planned to reduce cotton planting area by 1 million 230 thousand mu, and if it was successfully reduced to 2 million 884 thousand mu in 2016, the total reduction of cotton in Bazhou in the last two years will reach 1 million 825 thousand mu.

It is understood that in 2015, the total area of cotton planting in four areas reached about 10000000 mu, accounting for more than 40% of the total cotton planting area in Xinjiang, and the output accounted for half of Xinjiang's total local output.

As cotton market continues to be weak, cotton prices have dropped sharply.
