According to the relevant experts of Fujian inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the new standard has three notable characteristics:

First, we should further standardize the safety technology requirements.

For example, in the aspect of mechanical safety, it is requested that no rope should be allowed in the head and neck of infants and children under 7 years of age. Textile accessories (such as buttons, zippers, etc.) require attachments to have certain tensile strength, and should not have sharp edges and sharp edges. In terms of chemical safety, 6 new plasticizers and 2 kinds of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium are added, and the combustion performance requirements are also increased.

Two, the requirements are fully in line with international standards.

As the first mandatory standard for children's textile products in China, it fully absorbs and draws lessons from developed countries.

The technical regulations and requirements for safety have been equivalent to or even surpassed that of developed countries. Once implemented, the quality of our baby textile products will be greatly improved.

The three is the scope of application specifically for baby products.

Before the implementation of the new standard, the main applicable standard of China's textile products is the national basic safety technical specification for textile products (GB18401-2010), which is applicable to adult, infant and child textile products.

In contrast, the new standard is specifically targeted at infants and children's textile products sold in our country, and the object of application is more specific and clearer.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for imported infant and children clothing products has increased year by year. At the same time, the quality of imported children's clothing is not optimistic.

According to the white paper issued in April 2015 by the General Administration of quality supervision and quarantine in April 2015, the quality of imported and exported clothing products showed that the highest rate of unqualified products was imported clothing products for infants and children, with an unqualified rate of 36%.

At the same time, children's parents or consumers should pay attention to the content of the standard and implementation time, pitional policy, etc. when choosing children's clothing, they should carefully read the clothing identification instructions, avoid buying products that do not conform to the corresponding grades or labels, and find quality problems.
