Global Founders Capital was awarded $8 million 500 thousand in A round financing.

Coupled with the $2 million 500 thousand seed financing granted in August last year, Away has raised $11 million in total.

The participants of the current round of financing include the existing investors Forerunner Ventures, Accel Partners, Comcast Ventures, and the new Barry Barry Sternlicht, which is the founder and Starwood Capital Group board chairman of the Starwood hotel.

The company said that the famous musicians such as Jay Z, Andy Bonobos, founder of Internet menswear brand, Internet personal care brand The Honest Co. co founder and CEO Brian Lee, red hat brand accelerator, and socks brand investors, such as investors and other celebrities, also participated in the current round of financing.

Ludwig Endthaler will join the Away board.

Eurie Kim of Forerunner Ventures is also a member of the board of directors of Away.

The company's two co founders, Jen Rubio and Stephenie Korey, were employees of the famous Internet glasses brand Parker Warby.

Stephenie Korey said: "we adopt the same direct selling mode as Warby Parker and the Internet mattress brand Casper, and sell the same quality products on the market with 500 dollars or even more than $1000."

Away's first product, the Carry-On, is on sale in February this year, priced at $225.
