Liu Junchen, deputy director general of the State Administration for Industry and commerce, said that since the implementation of the national trademark strategy in 2008, China's trademark industry has achieved rapid development. The brand awareness of the whole society has been greatly improved, and the volume of trademark applications has been growing rapidly and steadily for many years, providing a strong driving force for the development of China's brand economy.

It is reported that China's trademark application has ranked first in the world for 14 consecutive years. As of the end of June this year, the "cumulative application of trademark" and the cumulative amount of trademark registration have been achieved.

Chinese enterprises' awareness of international brand names has been increasing.
In 2015, the number of Chinese Madrid trademark applications was 2321, an increase of 8.5% over the same period, ranking sixth in Madrid alliance.
At the same time, the global brand value of Chinese enterprises has been increasing, and the number of Chinese brands from the top 100 list of the most valuable global brands of the global brand consulting firm has increased from 1 ten years ago to 15 in 2016, and the overall brand value increased significantly over the ten years ago.

In the global innovation index released by the organization in August 2016, China ranked twenty-fifth, the first middle-income economy to rank among the top 25.
Liu Junchen also said that there is still a certain gap between the development of China's trademark brands and the developed countries. The number of world-renowned brands is not large, and the ability of Chinese brands to create economic benefits is not strong enough. The internationalization of Chinese brands is not high.
He said that the implementation of trademark brand strategy and the development of brand economy are the driving force under the new situation.

The important starting point of innovation is to promote China's economic innovation and development. The next step is to take three measures.
First, we must adhere to the direction of market-oriented reform, give full play to the main role of enterprises as brand building; two, we must fully respect the laws of the market, especially the laws of competition, make the market and consumers the ultimate arbiter of brand value, and achieve the survival of the fittest through fair competition; three, the government regulatory departments should conscientiously perform their duties of supervision and service, strengthen supervision and law enforcement according to law, innovate supervision mode, establish and improve long-term mechanism, constantly enhance the comprehensive governance capability, and create a relaxed, equal, standardized and orderly market environment for global brands.
