This even caused the rent increase of retail real estate in Hu Zhiming city. The refurbished old shopping center Saigon Centre (Xigong Center) has attracted about 400 local and overseas brand tenants, including the first Fred Perry, Dsquared2, Ted Baker and the famous Japanese chain store Takashimaya (High Island House) for the first time in Vietnam.
In the early August of this year, the first Chinese retailing brand name and top quality product opened in Hanoi was planned to expand to 13 stores including Hu Zhiming and Da Nang by the end of the year.
Online sales are complementary to physical retailing. VECITA, an e-commerce and information technology agency in Vietnam, predicts that by 2020, 30% of the country's population will choose online shopping, and its consumption will climb to $10 billion.
