DDT'S List Of Top 100 Luxury Goods Companies In 2018: LVMH Won First Place, And 9 Chinese Companies Topped The List.
DDT (Deloitte), the world's leading auditing and business consulting firm, recently announced the 2018 Global Powers of Luxury Goods 2018, ranking the world's luxury companies based on annual sales.
In the 2016/2017 fiscal year ending June 30, 2017, the main data obtained from this report are as follows:
The top 100 luxury goods companies in the world have total sales of $216 billion 600 million.
The average sales volume of each company is about 2 billion 200 million dollars.
According to the constant exchange rate, the sales growth of these companies is 1%, increasing by 6.8% according to the current exchange rate.
Among the top ten luxury companies, the 10 luxury companies contributed 47% of their sales, which was in line with the past three years, but there were 6 companies in the top ten.
Top ten data
French luxury goods group LVMH once again won the title of the world's number one luxury goods company, with annual sales of 23 billion 400 million US dollars. It is the second place Est (E Lauder Cos. Inc) sales of more than two times the sales volume of 11 billion 800 million dollars, Est.
Both sales increased by 5%.
Last year, the second largest Swiss luxury brand Richemont SA ranked third, with annual sales of $11 billion 600 million, down 3.9% from the same period last year.
Nevertheless, the net profit margin of the group is still 11.4%, ranking eleventh in the top 100.
Italy glasses giant Luxottica Group (Lu Xunti card) and France Kering (Kai Yun) group continue to live in a fourth and fifth position, with annual sales of $10 billion and $9 billion 400 million respectively.
Luxottica's spectacle business grew 2.8% in 2016 compared with the same period in 2016. Thanks to the strong strength of the company, the group's annual growth rate was 7.7%, leading the top ten companies.
The French beauty giant L "Or" Al (L'OREAL) group takes the place of the Swiss watch group Swatch Group Ltd (Swatch), ranking sixth, with sales of $8 billion 400 million.
Swatch group ranked seventh, sales in 2016 fell 10.7%, or ten.
The US fashion group Ralph Lauren Corp. followed closely. Its sales fell 10.2%, while its net profit margin fell 1.5%, the last in the ten strong.
PVH Corp sales of the US fashion retail group increased 5.6% to 6 billion 600 million US dollars over the same period last year, Ninth above the Chow Tai Fook, a jewelry business in Hongkong, China.
Zhou Dafu group fell one to tenth this year, and sales fell 9.4% year-on-year.
The fastest growing 20 companies
In the list of the 20 fastest growing companies, the performance of Italy enterprises is very eye-catching, and a total of 6 companies are on the list.
Among them, Valentino SpA and Furla SpA are the fastest growing Italy luxury companies in 2014, with an increase of 26.9% and 25.8% respectively.
Canada's outdoor fashion group Canada Goose Holdings Inc. led the list. Danish Fashion Jewelry Company Pandora A/S ranked second. The average annual growth rate of the two companies in 2014 ~2016 was 36% and 30.3% respectively.
Geographical distribution of top 100 companies
From the geographical distribution, there are 24 companies in Italy, the most famous companies in the world, including Prada Group, Giorgio Armani SpA, OTB SpA, Salvatore Ferragamo SpA and Luxottica Group (Lu Xun ladder card).
A total of 13 companies in the United States ranked second, while 10 in the UK ranked third.
A total of 9 companies in China are listed as follows: Zhou Dafu Jewelry Group (10), Lao Fengxiang Limited by Share Ltd (13), Zhou Shengsheng Group International Limited (30), Lufu group (International) Co., Ltd. (35), orient Jinyu Limited by Share Ltd (50), Zhejiang Ming jewellery Limited by Share Ltd (64), Xie Ruilin jewelry (International) Co., Ltd. (71), Zhou Dasheng jewelry (72), and Li Bang Holding Company Limited (95).
France and Switzerland also have 9 companies on the list.
But from the scale of sales, the average sales volume of French luxury goods companies leads the world.
The average sales volume of France, the United States and Switzerland ranked the top three, respectively, 5 billion 400 million, 3 billion 400 million and 3 billion 100 million.
The average sales volume of Italy top companies is US $1 billion 400 million.
Judging from the category, the report points out:
The growth of two categories of clothing and footwear is relatively stable, with an increase of only 0.2%.
Accessories and handbags increased by 3.4% over the same period last year.
Sales of cosmetics and fragrances increased by 7.6% annually, the two most powerful ones.
Sales of jewellery and watches declined by 4% over the same period last year.
