Shaoxing Keqiao has the largest scale of production and the most complete industrial chain in China.

The second revolution "market" revolution, the rise of the textile city.

In 1985, "Dacron" fabrics were popular because of the advantages of low price, strong durability and so on. In Shaoxing, the hot soil was springing up in an instant. A large number of black boat boats carried merchants to various township enterprises near Keqiao to buy cloth. Keqiao fabric trade was gradually formed.

Before and after 1987, the textile industry in Shaoxing appeared an embarrassing situation of "increasing production without increasing revenue". Shaoxing people realized that circulation could not keep up with production, and that the way of market sales remained in the primitive way of "stall selling".

Thus, in October 1, 1988, under the leadership of the government departments, the Keqiao light textile market (China Light Textile City) came into being. After several expansion, it has developed into the largest textile trade distribution center in Asia.

A number of other specialized markets, such as textile materials market, clothing market, shoe leather market, leather goods market, small commodity market, garment accessories market, decoration materials market, are also rising rapidly in China's Textile City and surrounding areas.

More than 65% of the city's textile products go to the whole country and go all over the world, and have gathered huge capital flow, information flow and technology flow.

The third revolution "system" revolution, that is, the shareholding system pformation of township enterprises.

As early as 1993, Shaoxing began to explore the reform of the property rights system of township enterprises with the shareholding cooperative system as its main content.

The two reform of shareholding system was promoted before and after 1998.

The "two restructuring" has provided a powerful driving force for the economic development of Shaoxing, significantly improved the decision-making ability and quick response ability of enterprises, and greatly enhanced the vitality of textile enterprises in the market competition. The fourth revolution was "shuttleless" revolution and technological innovation.

From 1992 to 1996, the Shaoxing textile cluster entered a period of great development. Due to the impact of imported high-grade textiles such as Korea and Taiwan on the textile market, a large number of imported fabrics flooded the whole China Textile City. However, the local fabrics were not interested, and the Shaoxing textile industry was facing a crisis.

The main reason lies in the gap of equipment and technology between domestic and foreign enterprises. Foreign textile enterprises have achieved shuttleless shuttling, printing and dyeing using computer color separation plate making, while Shaoxing is all shuttle looms.

After the southern tour of Comrade Deng Xiaoping, a new round of reform and opening up was launched in the whole country. The fifth revolution is the "foreign trade" revolution.

In 1998, affected by the financial turmoil in Southeast Asia, Shaoxing's textile industry was hit hard.

The Shaoxing people who have been baptized by the market have found the crux of the worldwide comparison: the export rate of textiles in Shaoxing is too low, only 3%.
