"No Waste City" Will Promote A New Mode Of Industrial Development

Recently, the "no waste city" pilot project of the "no waste city" issued by the general office of the State Council pointed out that the "no waste city" is a new urban development mode guided by new ideas of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing. It is also an advanced urban management concept by pushing forward the formation of green development mode and life style, and continuously pushing solid waste source reduction and resource utilization, minimizing the amount of landfill and minimizing the environmental impact of solid waste.

The pilot project of "no waste city" construction is a concrete action to thoroughly implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council. It is a powerful starting point for deepening the solid waste comprehensive management reform and promoting the construction of a "no waste society" from the overall urban level, and is an important measure to enhance ecological civilization and build a beautiful China.

The plan proposes that 10 cities with conditions, foundation and scale should be selected throughout the country to carry out the pilot project of "no waste city" in the whole city.

By 2020, the system will set up an index system for the construction of a "no waste city", and explore the establishment of an integrated management system and technical system for the construction of a "no waste city".

The plan has identified six key tasks.

First, we should strengthen top-level design and give full play to the government's macro guiding role.

Two, the implementation of industrial green production will promote the total volume of solid waste storage and disposal in bulk industry to zero growth.

Three, we should promote green agricultural production and promote the full utilization of major agricultural wastes.

The four is to practice green lifestyle and promote the reduction and utilization of domestic waste.

Five is to enhance risk prevention and control capabilities, and strengthen the comprehensive safety control of hazardous wastes.

The six is to stimulate the vitality of market players and cultivate a new mode of industrial development.
