Austria Fabric Giant Lenzing Works With Guatemala Designers
Lenzing, a special fabric manufacturer in Austria, jointly launched Juan Carlos Gordillo, a Guatemala designer, and Tejidos Royo, a Spanish textile producer, to launch a sustainable clothing series called "Planet REhab".
The Planet REhab series will be exhibited on from January 29th to 31st at the Munich Fabric Start in Munich.
Lenzing and Tejidos Royo said that reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry is their common goal and also an important factor contributing to this international cooperation.
They hope to explore more sustainable raw materials, continue to search and integrate new technologies, and reduce waste of resources.
The two companies said that the purpose of launching the Planet REhab series is to prove that fashion can be "responsible and beautiful" as long as there are suitable supply chain partners.
The Juan Carlos Gordillo, known for its "artistic style", uses the materials of the two companies, designs 15 sets of women's clothing, and expresses its praise of life and nature with extraordinary color and distinctive Latin style.
"In the Planet REhab series, I expressed my respect for the ocean with deep colors and smooth lines," the designer said. The series is made of sustainable fiber, fabric, dyestuff and finishing technology, and is also a protection for the ocean.
"Although many companies are talking about sustainable development, Lenzing and Tejidos Royo really create sustainable products and processes, which will benefit the whole industry, society and even the earth.
I hope this series can inspire other designers to give priority to sustainability in their creative process. "
The series uses sustainable fabrics from Tejidos Royo, which blend Lenzing Tencel fibers and Lyocell fibers made from recycled wood and recycled cotton waste.
Tejidos Royo introduces that this fabric is in line with the United Nations sustainable development goal, and uses the Recycrom recovery dyeing technology of Italian company Officina +39, which can convert recycled garments, fiber materials and textile waste into colored powder, and then process with sustainable chemicals. Finally, Italy's dyeing and finishing expert Tontello completes the production of these fabrics through water washing process.
The technology "significantly reduced water consumption and harmful chemicals during dyeing and finishing of denim."
Andrea Venier, managing director of Italian company Officina+39, said innovation, sustainable practices, clear information, pparency and social responsibility are the pillars of Trustainable.
He said: "we are honored to participate in the creation of Planet REhab, which reflects our commitment and maximizes the synergy between investment in environmental innovation and sustainable development.
Planet REhab calls on the whole industry to make real action. "
Tejidos Royo's Jose Royo says Planet REhab represents the future business model.
Companies that want to stay in the green and operate for 100 years must become cleaner and more sustainable from now on.
We are proud to be part of such a forward-looking project and cooperate with companies like us who are committed to sustainable development.
This is a responsible approach for the textile industry to ensure the future of the business, the earth and future generations. "
