In February 26th, Tmall International released the expansion plan of imported goods: in 2019, the number of cross-border commodities extended to over 1 million, which fully meets the needs of Chinese consumers, and focuses on improving commodity quality and logistics services to enhance the consumer experience.
At that time, Tmall international will become the first cross-border e-commerce platform with over 100 million imports, and further expand its dominance in the cross-border electricity supplier market.
According to the quarterly monitoring report of "China's cross border import retail e-commerce market" released by Analysys, China's cross-border import retail e-commerce market in the fourth quarter of 2018 was 114 billion 560 million yuan, up 36%.
Tmall international has maintained rapid growth. It not only keeps the first place in 31.7% share, but also expands the leading edge. This is the first five year share of Tmall International's market share.
Young people's diverse consumption spawned new demands

The expansion of imports is to provide more choices to satisfy young consumers who are willing to try, so that they can buy good products from the world without leaving home.
With the formal implementation of the new cross-border electricity supplier policy in January 1st, 63 commodity categories were added to the cross border positive list merchandise, including ten industries, including popular drinks, electronic appliances, food and medicine.
This means that more goods and brands are allowed to be introduced into the country through cross-border electricity providers. The volume expansion of Tmall international will reach 1 million soon.
Overseas brands accelerate development of China market through Tmall International
In 2018, overseas brands accelerated to China. By the end of last year, the number of overseas brands of Tmall international increased by 122% compared with the same period last year. More than 18000 international brands in 74 countries and regions, attracted 200 million consumers through Tmall international service, and attracted overseas consumer reflow.
Data show that in 2018, the newly registered overseas brand GMV grew by 119% year-on-year, equivalent to 3 times the overall growth rate of cross-border imports.
ALBION from Japan, British BOOTS, Italy KIKO, MUKAKO, American EltaMD and Greek national brand Korres were first introduced to China in 2018 through Tmall, and soon after joining Tmall, they exploded rapidly.

The first echelon of mothers and babies, cosmetics and fashion categories has covered the top three overseas brands.
In particular, the milk powder industry of mother and infant has integrated the global high-quality milk industry belt represented by New Zealand, Germany and Holland, and the scale advantage has further expanded.
Over the past two years, consumers are becoming fiercely on the road to pay for yen values. The consumption of cosmetic products has doubled every year, far exceeding the overall GMV growth rate.
And every week, the largest volume of new fashion categories has introduced nearly 400 thousand of the world's fashionable goods.
It also attracted a large number of overseas flagship stores, including the world's largest sports retailer Footlocker, the trend brand Fila, the British luxury brand Melimelo, the Australian YPL, etc.
