Shanghai Successfully Held The "One Belt And One Road" Investment Promotion Conference: Egypt And ASEAN Textile Industrial Park

Organized by the China Textile Industry Federation International Trade Office, the China textile international capacity cooperation enterprise alliance, the China International Trade Promotion Committee textile industry branch jointly organized the "belt and road" investment promotion meeting was held on March 12, 2019 afternoon in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai).

The meeting invited the chairman of the board of International Federation of textile manufacturers and chairman of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Federation of Egyptian industries Mohammed Kasenm to interpret the investment policy and environment of Egypt for Chinese textile and garment enterprises, and launched the Textile City Project in Minya, Egypt.

In addition, Shen Huimin, vice president of Sheng Ke park management private limited company of Singapore victory group, introduced the industrial park project in Vietnam and Indonesia, so that the participants could better understand the investment advantages of the two textile and garment industries and the investment information of the Chinese funded enterprises.

The vice chairman of China Federation of textile industry, executive director of China textile international productivity cooperation enterprise alliance, executive vice chairman of textile industry branch of China Council for international trade promotion, Secretary General of China textile international productive capacity cooperation enterprise alliance, Lin Yunfeng, vice president of textile industry branch of China International Trade Promotion Committee, Wang Chong, President of Liaoning textile and Garment Association, Wang Kai of Shaoxing Committee of China Council for international trade promotion, Bobby Chan, vice chairman of Shandong textile and garment industry association, Zhang Yuelan, vice president of Jiangsu Garment Association, and other leaders attended the meeting in Shandong.

Liu Yaozhong, deputy director of the International Trade Office of China Federation of textile industry, presided over the conference.

In his speech, Xu Yingxin pointed out: the self study nearly Ping chairman put forward the "one belt and one way" initiative in 2013 for five years. The construction of "one belt and one road" has flourish in cooperation. China's textile industry has entered the global layout stage, and has injected positive energy into the world textile economy.

Over the past five years, China's textile industry has accounted for more than 80% of the total investment in the global textile industry over the same period. This proportion is enough to show that the "one belt and one road" initiative has ushered in a new opportunity for China's textile industry to "go out".

At present, Chinese enterprises have established over 100 countries and regions in textile and clothing production, trade and product design overseas, and the overseas investment of China's textile industry covers almost the entire textile and garment industry chain.

The layout of overseas productivity of China's textile industry presents a pattern of "mainland China + ASEAN + Africa".

The organizers carefully selected the "high quality industrial park" along the key areas along the belt, hoping that these parks could escort Chinese textile enterprises to overseas.

New opportunities for ancient civilizations

Kasenm pointed out in his speech: Egypt's textile and garment industry has a good foundation and is in the forefront of Africa.

Egypt's textile and garment industry employs 1 million 500 thousand people, and textile and clothing garments account for 15% of Egypt's non oil and natural gas exports, contributing 3% to GDP.

Egypt has a relatively rich cotton raw material advantage, extremely preferential trade policy and low cost of production factors to provide a good foundation for the further development of the textile and garment industry, but also attracts the attention of many world textile and garment enterprises, and lists Egypt as its strategic layout for Africa.

Minya Textile City project is Egypt's first textile and garment free zone.

Textile City is located 225 kilometers south of Upper Egypt and Cairo, and logistics is convenient.

The region has sufficient young people of the right age for the development of labor-intensive industries.

The Egyptian government plans to focus on the development of advanced textile cities in the upper Egypt, and to build the necessary infrastructure for the textile city to realize the "2025 development vision" of the country's textile industry.

Minya textile city will also rely on this vision to become one of the important platforms for overseas textile and garment enterprises to settle in Egypt.

Matar pointed out: Based on the long-term good cooperative relations between China and Egypt, high-level exchanges between the two sides are frequent, economic exchanges are frequent, and there is great potential for development.

It points out the advantages of Egypt: 1, obvious location advantages and extensive radiation market.

2, adequate labor force.

3, exports to Europe and the United States enjoy preferential policies for trade.

Sheng Ke Industrial Park - help textile enterprises layout ASEAN

ASEAN is the largest overseas investment destination in China's textile and garment industry.

In 2017, China's textile and garment industry invested 655 million US dollars in ASEAN.

Temasek holding company shares 49.5% of Sheng Ke group in the ASEAN countries, the layout of a number of high-quality industrial parks.

Shen Huimin introduced to the delegates: Sheng Ke group has 14 industrial parks in China, Vietnam and Indonesia and India, of which Vietnam's 7 industrial parks are located in the southern, central and northern regions, which can meet different needs of investors.

Facing the complex and changeable international economic environment, the layout of China's textile and garment enterprises has strong intentions and extends the industrial chain to avoid risks.

The industrial park of Sheng Ke group has won the favor of many famous enterprises with its good infrastructure, one-stop babysitter service and brand influence.

At present, some well-known Chinese textile and garment enterprises, such as Yida and Dong Du, have entered their Vietnam Industrial Park.

The promotion meeting was strongly supported by Jiangsu Textile Industry Association, Shandong textile and garment industry association, Liaoning textile and Garment Association, China International Trade Promotion Committee, Shaoxing Municipal Committee and Huzhou Municipal Committee.

Participating enterprises communicate and discuss with the speakers on specific issues such as related costs, environmental protection requirements, labor and so on.

The conference, as one of the related activities of the spring joint exhibition sponsored by the China Federation of textile industry, has attracted the attention of many textile and garment enterprises and exhibitors.

In 2019, the uncertainty and complexity of the world economy were further enhanced, and the worrying situation made Chinese textile enterprises pay more attention to the layout of international production capacity. The scene full of seats and heated discussions fully confirmed this point.
