It is usually done by pre shrinking or water washing or sand washing.

So where is the difference between pre shrinkage, water washing and sand washing?

First, shrink.

The shrinkage of fabric after immersion is reduced by physical means to reduce shrinkage finishing process, also known as mechanical shrink finishing.

Shrinkage is mainly controlled by the shrinkage of the fabric. The shrinkage of the fabric before shrinkage is generally 7~8%. After shrinkage, the conventional shrinkage requirement of the fabric reaches the national standard 3% or the American Standard 3%. Because of the different drying methods, the American standard is relatively high, and the American Standard 3% is equivalent to 1% of the national standard.

Two, wash

Water washing is to add softener or detergent into the water and directly to the fabric for the next time. According to the time of washing and the amount of softener, it is usually divided into ordinary washing, ordinary washing and heavy washing.

And the effect after washing is that the fabric will become very soft, very hand feel, and there will be an illusion of thickening of the fabric.

Three. Sand washing

Sand washing is almost the same as that of water washing, but the added stuff is different, usually adding alkaline or oxidizing AIDS, and of course adding softeners to the right amount.

The addition of basic auxiliaries is to destroy the fabric surface, so that the fabric feels soft after the sand is washed, then the surface of the fabric will have some fluff, and there will be a faint white mist.

Therefore, after washing, the fabric will become soft and flimsy, and the fabric will have an illusion of thickening. But this kind of fabric is easy to split. If you pull it gently, it may break. We generally do not recommend thin fabric to do sand washing.
