Amazon Launches Flash Store Program To Help Small Brands Enter The UK High Street From The Internet
A few days ago, the US business giant Amazon (Amazon) joint small business support organization Enterprise Nation launched a new Clicks and Mortar project, which will offer 10 flash stores in all parts of the UK, offering the first more than 100 small online businesses the opportunity to sell in the UK high street.
The Clicks and Mortar project is a new year pilot project aimed at exploring a new model to help expand the influence of emerging Internet brands in high street and achieve double growth in online and physical businesses.
The first "Clicks and Mortar" store was opened in downtown Manchester in June 3rd. Commodity category covers household products, cosmetics, health care, food and beverage and electronic products. Its brands include foldable adult skateboard manufacturer Swifty Scooters, smartphone leather manufacturer Torro Cases, men's skin care product manufacturer Altr for Men, etc.
More other stores will be distributed in Welsh, Scotland, central, Yorkshire and southeastern regions in the future.
In addition to providing physical retail opportunities for the emerging UK Internet brand, Amazon will also provide 1 million pounds of financial support for the skills upgrading of small business employees to train more than 150 full-time apprentices and help SMEs improve their productivity.
Amazon will also provide free digital training for Amazon Academy activities in the UK to promote the development of small businesses online, especially to boost export sales.
Doug Gurr, Amazon's UK marketing manager, said: "small businesses are one of our important customer groups. We are pleased to work with Enterprise Nation to design a comprehensive package to help entrepreneurs in all parts of the UK develop online and offline businesses.
Amazon has been committed to supporting small business growth. "
Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation, said: "British consumers both like online shopping and shopping in physical stores.
The purpose of our plan is to help small businesses succeed by integrating the advantages of online and physical retailing.
This new retail concept will provide small businesses with space and technology support to enable them to experience retail for the first time, while enabling consumers to find new brands in local commercial streets.
Enterprise Nation supports more than 9 small businesses in the UK.
In addition, the independent consultant will analyze the success of this pilot project, make a research report and submit it to the British government, so as to provide reference for the latter to formulate "Future High Streets strategy".
In recent years, with the bankruptcy of famous chain stores such as Marks & Spencer (Martha department store) and Debenhams, and the bankruptcy of famous chain retailers such as Toys R Us, high street retailing in UK has been in a predicament, and the rise of Internet shopping is a major reason for the impact of physical retailers.
(see the history report of "gorgeous Chronicles": Marsha general UK made a tough decision to abandon the 10 largest market outlets in China including the world, Toys R Us or enter bankruptcy and liquidation, close all stores in the United States and the United Kingdom, and 36 thousand employees are unemployed).
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Amazon has set foot in physical retailing.
In November 2015, Amazon opened its first physical bookstore in Seattle, which was tested under the waterline business. In 2016, Amazon launched the news that Amazon will open 400 physical bookstores.
In September 2016, based on the success of the first 6 flash stores, Amazon has said that it will open 100 flash stores in the United States, and its flash shop has spread over the 21 states of the United States.
But in March, Amazon announced that it would close the 87 flash stores in the United States at the end of 4, and open more Amazon Books bookstores, Amazon 4-Star four-star stores and new grocery stores, and expand the scale of Amazon Go of unmanned convenience stores.
