In 1-5, China'S Textile And Garment Exports Decreased By 2.23% Compared To The Same Period: Textile Exports Were Strong And Clothing Exports Were Weak.

According to the General Administration of customs, exports of textiles and clothing in China in 2019 1-5 were 99 billion 589 million US dollars, down 2.23% from the same period last year.

Among them, exports of textiles amounted to US $48 billion 312 million, an increase of 1.53% over the same period last year, and exports of clothing and accessories reached US $51 billion 277 million, down 5.52% compared with the same period last year. Two of them continued to show a marked differentiation trend of "strong textile exports and weaker clothing exports". But in recent months, the monthly export of clothing has been on a slight upward trend.

In Renminbi in 2019, China's textile and apparel exports totaled 675 billion 740 million yuan in 1-5 months, an increase of 3.34% over the same period last year.

Since the end of April this year, China's RMB exchange rate has accelerated to depreciate. The depreciation rate of the central parity of RMB in May has reached 2.54%, the largest monthly depreciation since August 2018.

Since May, Sino US trade issues have changed, causing disturbances to trade, such as some commodities or re export, in order to make goods cleared before new tariffs come into effect.

The future trend still needs to be concerned about the key points of the G20 conference in late June.

According to the monthly data, China's textile and apparel exports in May amounted to 23 billion 831 million US dollars, an increase of 1.65% over the same period last year, the highest level of export volume since 2014. Of them, textile exports were US $11 billion 644 million, an increase of 3.55% over the same period last year, and clothing exports stood at 12 billion 187 million US dollars, down 0.11% from the same period last year.
