Vietnam'S Total Import And Export Volume Increased From 1 To May In 2019, 8.5%

According to the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, the total volume of Vietnam's imports and exports from 2019 to 1 was about 202 billion US dollars, up 8.5% over the same period (2018) in the same period of May.

In the first 5 months of 2019, Vietnam exported a total of US $100 billion 740 million, an increase of 6.7% over the same period last year, an import volume of US $101 billion 280 million, an increase of 10.3%, and a trade deficit of about 540 million US dollars.

From 1 to May 2019, Vietnam's mobile phones and components export ranked first, with an export volume of US $19 billion 860 million, growing by 3%; followed by computers, electronic products and components, with an export volume of US $12 billion 330 million, an increase of 11.1%; textiles, exports of US $12 billion 60 million, an increase of 10.3%; footwear exports amounted to 7 billion 140 million US dollars, an increase of 14.3%; exports of machinery, equipment and components were about US $6 billion 760 million, an increase of 5.7%.

In the first 5 months of 2019, the main import items were computers, electronic products and spare parts, with an import volume of US $19 billion 780 million, an increase of 17.3% over the same period last year.

Imports of machinery, tools and components amounted to US $14 billion 770 million, an increase of 14.9%.
