Hermes Moved 130 New Jobs In A Small Leather Factory.
French luxury group Herm s International (Hermes) announced that by the beginning of 2022, the leather and glove workshop in Saint-Junien will be relocated to a renovated Industrial Park on the Vienna border in the southwestern town of France, adding 130 new jobs.
In 1998, Hermes purchased the Saint-Junien leather glove workshop. Its existing plant is located in the renovated wool processing plant in June 2017, occupying an area of 1500 square meters. There are currently 130 craftsmen making gloves and small leather goods.
Vienna new industrial park near the border covers 5000 square meters, and the number of employees will increase to 260. These craftsmen, leather goods and gloves manufacturers will support the growth of household leather goods sales. These job opportunities also provide more opportunities for Paris leather traders in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine area.
This proves that Hermes is strengthening its handicraft center in southwestern France. There are three production bases, the Maroquinerie nontronnaise, the Maroquinerie de la Tardoire and the ganterie maroquinerie ganterie, which employ about 630 craftsmen.
In May this year, Hermes was formally put into use in seventeenth handmade leather shops in Fitilieu Town, Is re, France. The leather workshop in Gironde and Seine-et-Marne is also in preparation. As of December 31, 2018, Hermes employs more than 14 thousand employees worldwide, including 8800 French employees. Hermes has a total of 16 leather production bases in France, producing saddles and other rides, bags, small leather products, etc.
As an independent family business, Hermes insists on manufacturing in France and has 42 workshops in France. At present, 310 stores have been opened in 49 countries. Axel Dumas is the sixth generation member of the Hermes family and has been chief executive since 2013. Hermes also established the Fondation D entreprise Herm s (Hermes Enterprise Foundation) in 2008 to support artistic creation, teaching social skills, and protecting biodiversity and protecting the environment.
