US Cotton Exports Hit The Best In Four Months.
The US Department of agriculture's export sales report showed that in the week ending August 8th, US cotton export sales were 480 thousand and 300 packs, the highest in four months. Among them, in 2019-20, net sales of land cotton exports were 329 thousand and 100 packages, and the 2020-21 annual sales of land cotton exports were 151 thousand and 200 packages.
US export sales data are strong, mainly due to increased demand in Bangladesh and Vietnam. By this positive boost, overnight ICE cotton hit a two week high. However, Sino US trade frictions have been delayed for a long time, and cotton futures have fallen by about 19% during the period.
Note: the USDA export sales report usually publishes data on sales and export shipments of cotton and other crops in the United States on the week of Thursday. The accumulated data can reflect the export situation of US agricultural products. The reported data include the net sales and new sales figures for the current market year and the next market year. The annual sales year of the US cotton began in August 1st.
