The 4Th Canadian Clothing And Textile Purchasing Exhibition Was Held In Toronto
China news agency, Toronto, August 19 (Reporter Yu Ruidong) The fourth Canadian Clothing and Textile Sourcing Exhibition opened at the Toronto International Exhibition Center on August 19 local time. The exhibition will again launch "Chinese Brand Publicity Fashion Show" and "International Fashion Show".
This three-day professional exhibition is hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Textiles and the Jiangsu Council for the Promotion of International Trade, organized by JPC Corporation of the United States, and co organized by the Canadian Garment Alliance. The total exhibition area is more than 8000 square meters, attracting exhibitors from 15 countries, including China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and more than 300 booths. Among them, there are more than 100 Chinese exhibitors, with a total of 189 stalls.
The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China has once again set up a Chinese brand promotion project based on this exhibition, and selected eight well-known Chinese clothing brands, including Bosiden and Red Bean, to show the image of Chinese clothing brands to buyers in various countries. One of the highlights of this Chinese brand promotion project is that these eight brands donated a batch of clothes to the Canadian charity Brands for Canada to support the local poor in Canada.
Han Tao, Consul General of China in Toronto, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, said that as the fourth largest category of Canadian products imported from China, clothing and textiles have made important contributions to China Canada economic and trade cooperation. With the change of Chinese people's lifestyle, Canadian high-quality clothing brands can explore greater development potential in the Chinese market. He also expects more Canadian enterprises to find more business opportunities through the second China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai.
Zhang Xinmin, Vice President of the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, said that the clothing and textile trade between China and Canada has maintained a good momentum of development in recent years. In 2018, the total import and export volume of bilateral textile and clothing reached US $4.66 billion, up 8.87% year on year. This is significant in the current complex global trade environment.
Diplomatic and commercial officials from Mongolia, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Turkey, Ghana, Peru, India and other countries also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Canada Clothing and Textile Purchasing Exhibition is the only professional textile and clothing purchasing exhibition in Canada at present, and has gradually become the preferred exhibition for Chinese textile and clothing enterprises to enter the Canadian market. In addition to the fashion show, more than 20 forums and lectures will be held during the exhibition.
China is currently the world's largest producer, exporter and consumer of textiles and clothing. According to the estimation of the China National Garment Association, the total output of clothing in China in 2018 was about 45.6 billion, about six times of the world's total population. (End)
