IKEA China Layout "Small Shop" National Small Shopping Mall Opens In Spring Festival In 2020
According to recent media reports, IKEA China's first small shopping center will be located in Shanghai Guohua center, with a total area of more than 8500 square meters, and is expected to open before the Spring Festival in 2020.
According to the media, this is not the first time IKEA has tried small stores in the Chinese market. In May 25, 2016, IKEA opened its first small store in China, Huarun and commercial street in Wenzhou, Pick-up and order poin (PUP), covering an area of about 1800 square meters, with about 2500 kinds of merchandise. There was no IKEA restaurant and no IKEA food was sold in the shop.
There are two storehouses, one of which has nearly 1000 square meters of logistics storage center or multi-function service desk, including 4 cashier counters and 2 return counters; the two floor is the order area.
In January 14, 2017, IKEA opened second domestic ordering centers in the sinks LIVE hi-up Plaza of Wukesong trading area in Beijing, with a business area of about 3000 square meters, providing over 2500 display products and nearly 40 household solutions.
But in early November 2018, the store was officially transformed into IKEA's first experience center in China. It stripped PUP of its previous warehousing and increased its display products to 3000 categories. The store was divided into 7 areas -- comfortable sofa, comfortable sleep, sitting room reception, bedroom accommodating, and new tableware and food area, children's playground and home design experience center.
It is not difficult to find that the area of IKEA ordering center is much smaller than that of IKEA's traditional home shopping malls. For consumers, the area that can be visited is not large, and the goods displayed are less than those of IKEA's traditional home shopping malls, so many "IKEA fans" feel a little sorry. After upgrading the Beijing store to the experience center, the store experience function has been enhanced. To a certain extent, it reflects the function of IKEA store is no longer limited to the sale and storage of goods, more is the experience interaction.
Although the information released by IKEA's first small store in China is very small at present, it can be determined that the shopping area is far ahead of the previous order center and experience center. I believe that besides the IKEA household products, this small shopping mall will also have experience formats.
