Billion Cloud Computing Industry To Accelerate Cloud Management To Boost Cloud Rate
China's cloud computing market is booming, but it faces many problems.
Recently, the development research center of the State Council released the white paper on the development of China's cloud computing industry. In 2018, the scale of China's cloud computing industry reached 96 billion 280 million yuan, an increase of 39.2% over 2017, and the industrial scale in 2019 is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan, reaching 129 billion 70 million yuan.
"Digital economy is gradually rising and developing rapidly. In this stage, cloud computing and AI technology become an important empowerment technology in digital economy." "For the digital economy, cloud computing is not only a tool to realize IT resource pool, improve performance, reduce costs and simplify management," said Qu Bi Shi, deputy director of the Institute of international technology and economics of the State Council Development Research Center. "More importantly, it provides abundant services for digital transformation of industries."
Although China's cloud computing industry is gratifying, its scale in 2018 is only about 8% of that of the US cloud computing industry, which is significantly different from that of China's GDP equivalent to GDP in the US over the same period. At the same time, according to data from McKinsey and other research institutions, in 2018, the cloud rate of us enterprises has reached over 85%, and the cloud rate of EU enterprises is also around 70%. The cloud rate of Chinese enterprises is only about 40%.
"China's cloud computing industry needs to build a large-scale cloud based switching platform with flexible business control capabilities to support private cloud, industrial cloud, and public cloud resource layout." Turning to the future development of China's cloud computing market, Liu Yunjie, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, pointed out: "at the same time, we should support the cloud exchange and cloud interconnection of heterogeneous manufacturers, and have the ability of opening hour class business to make the stability of the system more perfect."
The gap with foreign countries is still alive.
As a basic technology of digital economy, the development of cloud computing is affecting people's hearts.
Liu Yunjie emphasized that cloud computing and other core technologies are of great importance to the development of industrial Internet. "The development of industrial Internet and holographic communications has brought a series of new requirements and challenges to the network. Through cloud computing, it can sink computing and storage capabilities, service users nearby, reduce access delay and enhance user experience."
The report further points out that cloud computing can provide a wealth of services for the digital transformation of industries, including all kinds of production and market resources based on cloud platform integration, which can promote efficient docking and collaborative innovation on the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, greatly reduce the threshold of digital transformation of enterprises, and accelerate the development of digital economy.
It is precisely because of the fundamental role of cloud computing that major countries in the world are increasing their support for the industry. In 2011, the United States promulgated the "federal government cloud strategy", and proposed that by 2020, the cloud computing industry will account for at least 30% of the high-tech industry. The German "cloud computing action plan" pointed out that by 2020, the cloud computing industry will drive a significant increase in the total output value of the digital economy. Japan's "Intelligent Cloud Computing Strategy" predicts that the output value of cloud computing will reach 400 trillion yen (about 3 trillion and 670 billion US dollars) in 2020.
Under the double push of the government and industry, the cloud computing technology in China is also rapidly landing. However, compared with other major countries, there is still a big gap in China's cloud computing industry. In addition to the overall industrial scale, the cloud computing industry in China needs to break through in the upstream core hardware.
It is understood that in the industrial structure, the cloud computing industry chain can be divided into upstream core hardware (chip: CPU, flash memory, memory), the middle reaches IT infrastructure (servers, storage devices, network equipment, etc.) and downstream cloud Ecology (basic platform, cloud native application, etc.) three parts.
The report pointed out that China's cloud computing industry upstream chip, especially high-end storage chips, lack of core technology, and need to cooperate with foreign countries. Besides the core chips, the localization rate of China's server components has exceeded 60% in the IT infrastructure of the middle reaches. In the development of downstream cloud ecosystem, with the increasing market share of HUAWEI, Tianjin and other domestic manufacturers, the right to speak on the development of ARM instruction set will gradually increase, which is conducive to the realization of the influence on the upper ecosystem through the market.
Besides, Chinese enterprises are far less efficient than European Union and American companies. In 2018, the cloud rate of enterprises in various industries in China was only about 40%, far lower than that of American enterprises (above 85%) and European Union enterprises (around 70%). In the construction of digital economic core infrastructure, Chinese enterprises still have a long way to go.
But at this stage, with the deepening of digital transformation, cloud computing technology and the continuous integration of government and large enterprises will be conducive to the rapid rise of cloud rate in Chinese enterprises. The report predicts that in 2023, the cloud rate of government and enterprises will exceed 60%, and the depth of cloud will be greatly improved.
Call for cloudy management
At present, there are many reasons for the low cloud rate of enterprises in various industries in China. One of the most important reasons is the "isolated island cloud" phenomenon. It has caused inconvenience to enterprises and governments.
The so-called "isolated island cloud" means that the cloud service providers are isolated from each other, and the ecosystem between them can not be connected. "In fact, users are not so concerned about the background of HUAWEI cloud, Baidu cloud or Ali cloud." Wu Lianfeng, vice president and chief analyst of China IDC, bluntly said that in his view, cloudy management will become the trend of the times. Enterprises will use integrated tools to achieve cloudy management across common and private cloud.
Dong Xiaoying, an associate professor of Peking University Guanghua School of management, called for the establishment of a cloud service provider's interoperability mechanism and a customer oriented service delivery system standard to avoid the "isolated island cloud" phenomenon. The so-called "one-stop cloud alliance" is that no matter what cloud can be managed by one-stop login, instead of forming in the future, there are not many clouds in China, but they are isolated clouds, each of which becomes an ecosystem, and the environment can not be connected with each other.
Liu Yunjie further pointed out that in order to avoid the phenomenon of "isolated island cloud", it is necessary to build a large-scale cloud based switching platform with flexible business control capabilities to support the unified arrangement of private cloud, industrial cloud and public cloud resources. At the same time, we also need to support heterogeneous cloud exchange and multi cloud interconnection, and the system stability is also very high.
In addition to cloud background segmentation, security and privacy also restrict the cloud on the enterprise. HUAWEI cloud China CTO Xiao Yi proposed that the use of professional data from the policy level to assess and judge whether the enterprise can go to the cloud, which is conducive to reducing the safety concerns of enterprises. At the same time, cloud service providers need to provide more business mode support for enterprises or government through business mode innovation, so as to reduce the conflict of cloud's iterative mode and policy mode.
The white paper suggests that we should strengthen security measures in three aspects of software and hardware and management. On the one hand, we should establish a classified security system for cloud computing security, and establish specific industry safety standards and usage standards for cloud data in terms of service availability, data confidentiality and integrity, privacy protection, physical security, and malicious attack prevention. At the same time, we need to strengthen the innovative development and application of software and hardware security tools.
