Recently, "textile lights" 2019 China Textile Industry Federation science and Technology Education Award conference was held in the Great Hall of the people of Beijing. Speaking at the meeting, Li Lingshen, vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out that the textile industry will become one of the most potential industries in China to take the lead in entering the world's manufacturing power.

Li Lingshen introduced that in 2018, China's textile fiber processing totaled 54 million 600 thousand tons, accounting for more than half of the total fiber processing in the world, and China's textile and clothing exports amounted to US $276 billion 730 million, accounting for more than 36% of the world's total. From the supply of raw materials, design and research, to textile processing, finishing, operation and sales, China's textile industry has become the largest industrial body with the largest volume and the most complete industrial system in the world. The capability of independent innovation in the industrial chain has been continuously improved, and significant breakthroughs have been made in the fields of high performance, high functional fiber materials, high-end equipment manufacturing and industrial textiles.

Li Lingshen said that in 2018, China's textile industry R & D (R&D) invested 47 billion 100 million yuan, accounting for 3.60% of the national industry, and the intensity of R & D input was 0.88%, an increase of 0.41% compared with that of 5 years ago. Compared with 5 years ago, the number of textile workers in China decreased by 3 million 675 thousand, total assets increased by 404 billion 700 million yuan, and the per capita assets increased by 150 thousand yuan, which fully reflected the effectiveness of science and technology in improving the quality and efficiency of the industry. "In the future, replacing technological imitation with cutting-edge technology innovation will become an important driving force for the transformation and development of new and old energy in China's textile industry." Li Lingshen emphasized.

It is reported that in 2019, the textile technology award awarded 6 technical invention awards, 77 scientific and technological progress awards, and 4 special contribution awards. This year, the proportion of awards for science and technology awards has been greatly reduced, only 48%, much lower than 60% in previous years, and the "gold content" has been significantly improved.

The education award includes two parts: higher education teaching achievement award, teacher award and student award. The award of higher education teaching achievement has been awarded 327 awards for textile and garment universities. The award projects mainly focus on talent training mode, specialty construction, curriculum reform, practice teaching, double creation education, discipline competition, integration of production and teaching, etc.

Recently, at the 2019 China Textile Innovation annual meeting, Sun Ruizhe said that China's textile industry has formed the largest and most complete industrial system in the world, and the vast majority of China's textile industry indexes have reached or even advanced the world's advanced level. In 2018, China's textile industry accounted for more than half of the total fiber processing, and textile and garment exports accounted for more than 1/3 of the world's total exports. The textile industry as a pillar industry of the national economy and the important livelihood industry has become more prominent. By the end of 2018, the number of legal person units, total assets and total operating income in textile and garment industries accounted for 9.5%, 4.8% and 5.4% of the total industry respectively. The number of employed persons was 11 million 32 thousand, accounting for 9.6% of the total industry in China, and the number of employees engaged in wholesale and retail trade reached 16 million 120 thousand. The proportion of textile and clothing exports accounted for 12% of the total exports of goods in the country, and the net foreign exchange earnings of textiles and garments amounted to US $250 billion 190 million, accounting for 71.1% of the national trade surplus.
