Road traffic accidents, also known as "endless wars", cause huge casualties and property losses to countries all over the world every year. According to WHO statistics, road traffic injuries have become the eighth leading cause of death in the world, killing nearly 1 million 300 thousand people worldwide every year. According to statistics from the traffic administration bureau of the Ministry of public security, in 2017, the death rate of people aged 16-25 years was 7.43% and the proportion of injured persons was 11.74%.

In October 29, 2019, GAC Honda joined the China Automotive Technology Research Center Co., Ltd., and joined hands with Tianjin University, Tongji University, Jilin University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai), Harbin Institute of Technology, and other universities to hold the launching ceremony of Honda alliance. The alliance of road safety colleges and universities will promote the formation of road safety action ability of college students through continuous and regular forms of road safety knowledge lectures, real car driving skills and safety theme activities, and will continue to influence more people around them and contribute continuously to road safety.

Wu Shuxia, deputy director of the information center of China Automotive Technology Research Center, pointed out in his speech that China automobile central committee has been concerned about the road safety field. As the third party organization in the automobile industry, it has the responsibility and obligation to contribute to the road safety cause. The China Automotive Industry Center will actively respond to and advocate the "ten year action of the United Nations road safety", carry out relevant research projects, and strive to create a safe road traffic environment.

Honda, also concerned about the road safety of youth groups, has always spared no effort in road safety education. As the initiator of the alliance of road safety colleges and universities, Cheng Lin, Secretary of the Party committee of Honda, said: the group of college students to enter the society, representing young and energetic people, is also an important force to promote social progress; improving young people's road safety awareness and safe driving skills will play an important role in further improving the road conditions. Honda hopes to provide a road safety learning platform for college students through the establishment of a road safety College Alliance, focusing on promoting the new generation of social progress. GAC Honda has rich experience and complete training system in traffic safety education. As early as 2007, the "safety China trip" campaign was launched for the community. In order to enhance the drivers' awareness of traffic safety and safe driving skills, they have repeatedly entered the university campus and carried out safety education activities for teachers and students in the new semester.

After the establishment of the alliance, GAC Honda will provide members of the university with special funds to carry out road safety education every year, and jointly carry out the road safety popularization and education activities at the China Automotive Center.
