Interview With Designer Zeng Yan: Chinese Culture Nourishes Original Design
"Chinese painting and Chinese culture have given me great nourishment." Zeng Yan, director of guomu custom brand design of Shenzhen Huatian creative enterprise image design Co., Ltd., said in an interview that she had studied fine arts and Chinese painting since she was a child, and loved Chinese traditional culture. Therefore, she has been engaged in brand women's clothing design for more than ten years, and Chinese traditional culture has given her endless original power.
As a senior fashion designer and image consultant, Zeng Yan has been engaged in brand clothing design for more than ten years. She has worked in many garment groups in Shenzhen. In recent years, she has devoted herself to the research and design of new Chinese style clothing. She is good at integrating image design and fashion design into one, and flexibly applies it to customized clothing design. In fact, these expertise let Zeng Yan show her skills in the Chinese custom brand "guomu customization".
"Because there is a big difference between customization and pure product design, I went to study the professional personal image design course and obtained the international registered international senior image designer certificate." She said that over the years, she has always insisted on original design, based on rich traditional Chinese culture, combined with modern western women's clothing design techniques, to create new Chinese style clothing with both fashion and elegance.

Nurtured by Chinese culture, Zeng Yan's original design has a special flavor. With the aesthetic background of traditional Chinese painting, she is greatly benefited in fashion design.
"Shi" is a unique expression of composition in Chinese painting. In the process of clothing design, especially the application of lines and patterns, I will pay special attention to their orientation, twists and turns, size, movement and response. " In a sense, making clothes is also painting, she said. It's just that drawing is drawing with ink and ink and sketching on paper, while designing clothes is to "draw" on cloth with scissors, lines, needles and threads.
"Most of the ancient literati expressed their feelings by painting and calligraphy. The clothes we designed actually expressed their attitude towards life." Zeng Yan's clothing has more connotation because of her deep understanding of life.
She used clothes to express her "clear" attitude towards life: "for our needs in life, including the pursuit of material, it is better not to ask for more or less. So my designs rarely stack elements. "
What she is good at is fashionable and personalized cheongsam design. She combines traditional Chinese cheongsam elements with modern design techniques, and traditional crafts with modern cutting technology to present a new style of modern cheongsam and show the innovative spirit of keeping pace with the times.
"Beauty, in fact, is not simple. It is the embodiment of humanistic quality and perceptual quality." In particular, she mentioned that through the communication of customized clothing process for customers, she imperceptibly communicated these aesthetic views with everyone. She hoped that by "planting" this seed in the hearts of customers, and then sprouting in the next generation, she could combine Chinese traditional aesthetics with modern life and realize popularization.
As a senior designer, Zeng Yan has her own "high" pursuit of fashion design. "In my opinion, the height of fashion design is beauty in the simplest way, and harmony is beauty. It can make the wearer and the clothing fit and merge with each other in terms of body, mind, temperament and appearance. This is the highest level of wearing clothing." She told reporters that once a client put on their clothes and couldn't help saying, "this is the real clothes.". Let people and clothing integrate, beauty is the beauty of the whole, from the inside to the outside.
It's not easy to do that. This requires designers not only to understand technology and artistic quality, but also to understand human nature, read a large number of materials, constantly exchange and study, communicate with customers attentively, practice constantly, and strive to bring the concept to customers.
Zeng Yan will bring surprise on the show of the 5th China (Shenzhen) International Fashion Festival. She revealed that the show works are based on the elements of Chinese cheongsam, combined with modern fabrics and pearl embroidery and other decorative techniques, or simple or complex, or shallow or deep, through smooth lines and layered wearing method, combining cheongsam and Western style dress with a new look of modern Chinese clothing.
"As a customized brand, our positioning is new Chinese, Chinese, and world-wide."
