Xinjiang Akesu Textile Industry To Help The Poor Farmers Become "Monthly Salary"

Near the Spring Festival, Abulikemu Rouzi, a small fellow of Ku Ku Mai Village, Wushi, Xinjiang, received an excellent employee bonus. He was a farmer a year and a half ago, and now he has taken a steady income from his home textile factory to subsidize his family. His wife money is also growing.

Recently, the China News Agency reporter visited Wushi County, Xinjiang, which belongs to the Akesu area. It is one of the four poorer southern Xinjiang prefectures (Kashi, Hotan, Akesu, kirisaku Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture). In the production workshop of Huasheng Textile Co., Ltd. in Wushi County, all production lines are open and workers are busy on production line. Nearly 400 workers in the factory came from the locality, 100 of whom were once poor households.

Xinjiang is rich in cotton resources. In recent years, a large number of domestic well-known textile and garment enterprises have invested in factories in Kashi, Akesu, Urumqi and Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. In some remote rural areas where there are no industries and jobs, many rural young people's lifestyle is changing.

In the past, 4 people in Abulikemu's family lived on the income of 20 thousand yuan each year by 10 acres of walnut belt. His brother went to university and he was faced with a family. Abulikemu began to think seriously about the way out. In the summer of 2018, the textile factory introduced from the village began to build.

Today, Abulikemu is the captain of the factory's post spinning workshop, and the 20 maintenance workers of the more than 60 machines are daily maintenance, rush repair, regular refueling, and Spring Festival overhaul. "When I first came, I didn't understand anything, so I went along with my master. Now I can get 2500 yuan salary." Abulikemu is diligent and studious. The company regards him as a key training employee, which is an extremely important post in the textile mill. If he can become a mature mechanic, his wage level will at least double.

Zejhanguri Camille and her husband bought Komti Eriti. Both husband and wife worked in the factory. There were old couple with small ones. They used to barely maintain 8 mu of land. Now, their monthly wages add up to more than 5000 yuan. "If we save enough money, we need to buy a car first and then buy a building in the county seat." Raihan Guli is full of expectation for the future.

Wushi county was once one of the two deep poverty-stricken counties in Akesu. It is understood that there were nearly 64 thousand poor people in the county, and 74 poor villages. By the end of 2019, the county had already lifted all the poor people out of poverty, withdrew from all the poor villages, and lifted the hat in poor counties.

In order to achieve the goal of poverty alleviation, industrial poverty alleviation is a major event that is highly valued and effective. Reporters interviewed in the visit found that the local implementation of "leading enterprises + farmers' professional cooperatives + farmers" industrial chain model. Take the town of Al Ya for example. Besides the textile mill, there is a hat factory and a walnut processing satellite factory. Where the surplus labor has gone, there are also two crops, cotton and walnut, that have been planted locally.

"Our enterprises have also enjoyed many policies, such as poverty alleviation funds in South Xinjiang, tariff concessions and staff training subsidies. I hope I can also train some technical talents for the local community in return. Xia Hua, general manager of Huasheng Textile Co., Ltd., told reporters.

Nowadays, the textile and garment industry has become the main channel to absorb the surplus labor force in the urban and rural areas of Akesu. It is estimated that by the end of 13th Five-Year, 8 million spindles will be formed in the Akesu area, and the whole industry chain will generate 150 thousand jobs, and help the 80 thousand poor families get rid of poverty and become rich through employment.
