Nike Build Intelligent Logistics Distribution Center. Robots Can Replace Most Of The Manpower.

A few days ago, the US sports giant Nike (Nike) announced that it would work with Japan's DaiwaHouseInsustry to build an intelligent logistics distribution center with "robot handling and manpower packaging".

In this cooperation, DaiwaHouse and AccaInternational will provide logistics and distribution center facilities and facilities for Nike operators and direct stores in the Japanese market, and help Nike further strengthen its own business and store businesses, and adjust the products more quickly.

In 2019, Nike announced that it stopped selling its sports shoes and clothing on the Amazon website of the US electricity supplier giant, ending the online cooperation pilot project between the two sides since 2017.

Recently, DaiwaHouse has set up a logistics distribution center with 6000 container shelves and 1 million goods in Chiba County near Tokyo. Under the cooperation of 215 handling robots and 50~60 employees, 30 thousand items can be delivered everyday. Compared with the same scale logistics distribution center, the number of personnel required is only 1/4.

It is worth mentioning that these robots come from the Chinese robot manufacturer GEEK+ (Ji Zhijia), the model is EVE.

After receiving the command, the distribution robot determines the location and route through the two-dimensional code marked on the ground, keeps running between the shelves, moves the container to the workstation, and some of the employees take the order goods from the employees, and the remaining employees pack and distribute them. The logistics distribution center is equipped with artificial intelligence technology to improve work efficiency. For example, container shelves equipped with best sellers will be placed closer to the workbench.

In the future, the order will be delivered before three p.m. in the capital circle of Tokyo. Before that, the order from the previous day was shipped from 7 a.m. and shipped at night.

In addition, with the support of AccaInternational data analysis, the logistics distribution center will put the purchased goods together in the same container rack to further improve the efficiency.

As a leading developer of retail warehouses in Japan, DaiwaHouse hopes retailers can sell goods directly to consumers through the use of the system, reducing or completely relying on Amazon's three party e-commerce platform.

In the future, DaiwaHouse plans to open more logistics centers in Japan, including second in Tokyo's capital circle in 2021. Chiba County logistics distribution center is based on the existing facilities, adding a system, the investment cost is about 2 billion yen (about 127 million yuan).

DaiwaHouse points out that it hopes to further cooperate with Nike in the future, that is, to provide services for brands in the markets outside Japan, and is also considering providing this system for other brands and retailers. DiawaHouse is currently developing and operating several logistics distribution centers in Southeast Asia.

DaiwaHouse director Urakawa Ryuya (TatsuyaUrakawa) said: "we will create a display sample in Japan and bring it to Brazil, Scandinavia and other overseas markets."

Globally, the distribution center distribution robot market is growing significantly. The international robotics Association (InternationalFederationofRobotics) predicts that by 2022, the global logistics robot market will grow to $22 billion 500 million, an increase of five times compared to 2018.

Before Nike, Japan's fast fashion giant Uniqlo cooperated with two robot start-ups, Japan's robot controller manufacturer MUJINInc. and French robotics startups ExotecSolutionsSAS, to achieve a higher level of warehousing and logistics automation, and the efficiency of sorting and distribution was also improved.
