PUMA2019 Sales First Broke 5 Billion Euros
In February 20th, the German sports brand PUMA reported that its global sales increased by 18.4% over the same period last year, reaching 5 billion 500 million euros in 2019. At the same time, the company's annual sales volume has broken 5 billion euros. Net profit rose 40% to 262 million euros in 2019.
In recent years, PUMA performance has continued to grow significantly. In fiscal year 2016, 2017 and 2018, sales were 3 billion 600 million euros, 4 billion euros and 4 billion 600 million euros respectively. "2019 is the best year in the history of PUMA," Bjorn Goulden, CEO of PUMA, said in a statement. "I am proud of the team's achievements. This achievement shows the global potential of PUMA brand."
Financial reports show that in 2019, PUMA achieved two digit growth in all categories and markets. Judging from the category, the sales of PUMA footwear business increased by 16.8% over the same period last year, reaching 2 billion 550 million euros. Clothing department, annual sales increased by 22.6% to 2 billion 60 million euros.
In the regional market, during the period, the sales growth of PUMA in the Asia Pacific market was the largest, driven by the performance of China and India, and the year-on-year growth rate reached 26%. In addition, the US market and the European, Middle East and African regions also gained two digit growth.
PUMA said at the earnings conference that all brand activities in February had been cancelled due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. More than half of the brands and franchisees have not resumed their business. The company expects first quarter results to be hit. However, PUMA said it still has the confidence to achieve its 2020 performance goals. PUMA expects sales to grow by about 10% in fiscal 2020.
