Fashion And Environmental Protection Are 2020
This article is authorized by the Wild International Arts Centre.
I wonder if you can feel it? 2020 has passed 1/4. I believe that for the whole world, 2020 will be an impossible year for us to forget.
As the beginning of a new ten year, 2020 created many "first times", the first year of 5G, the first year of cloud life and the first year of live broadcast. Of course, it is also the "first year of environmental protection" in the fashion industry.
01. Burberry first carbon neutral show
London Fashion Week can be said to be the biggest attraction of FW 20 environmental fashion. As the London Fashion Week, the "chief big card" is also the only representative of the British fashion and luxury industry. Burberry's 2020 autumn and winter show in the "sustainable fashion" approach is as simple and crude as ever.
The location of the selection is Olympia Exhibition Centre in West London. According to the announcement by the brand side, it is a venue with "Certified Sustainable (Sustainable certification)", that is to say, it has achieved certain standards in the rational use of energy and reducing carbon emissions.
Of course, if you are only trying to find the place, you may be criticized for "acting like a bird". When Burberry was preparing for the fashion show, the brand avoided the use of air services, transported goods by electric vehicles and reduced carbon emissions to the lowest level. The world's first "carbon neutral" fashion show was successfully held and announced on the day of the big show. A series of "carbon compensation" projects, such as the regenerated agro forestry public welfare industry in Australia, will be invested to set up an example worthy of Follow for the fashion industry.
02. Mulberry 100% sustainable bag
The British Light luxury accessories brand Mulberry, which was once too popular for Alexa Chung, card pump, Kate Moss and so on, is not popular at the first time. The name is not too much like Burberry. In this season, it abandoned traditional show and static display, but opened a "Mulberry: Made to" in the store of his new bond street. "Last" is the theme of the 3 day exhibition.
The brand launched the first "100% sustainable" bag on this exhibition. Portobello, produced in the brand's own "carbon neutral" factory, uses materials supplied by leather traders from the environmental gold medal. The polyester thread used for sewing is also made from recycled materials. Even Logo printing avoids the pollution of gold foil, and uses the concave embossing, while reducing the carbon emission caused by logistics by more than 50%.
The exhibition site also invited the craftsmen to come and demonstrate the complete production process of the Portobello bag at the scene, from cutting, sewing to inking, grinding, and the whole process was clear.
At the same time, Mulberry officially launched the "The Mulberry Exchange" old package recycling project. Customers can hand over the old Mulberry bag to the brand name, verify it and evaluate it, and sell it through the official workshops, and the customers who provide the old bags will get a certain value after the valuation.
On the other hand, Mulberry is developing alternative fabrics. The M series introduced in this exhibition is a new ECONYL fabric blended with recycled nylon and environment-friendly cotton.
03. Vivienne Westwood "indoor struggle"
When it comes to the "green pioneers" of the fashion industry, of course, we can't miss the Empress Dowager. Vivienne Westwood is once again opposed to tradition this season. It chose to replace the show in the form of static exhibition, and displayed the latest brand series in Serpentine Gallery.
The entire exhibition space is filled with slogans of various publicity and environmental protection - "Growth = Destroy", "Culture-fit, Consump - fat" and so on. Designers use silent slogans to protest the harm of over consumption to the environment.
In the exhibition, Empress Dowager expressed support for Australian journalists and Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks. Assange has exposed war crimes at work, such as deadly military attacks on journalists and various corruption and murder cases, but at present, he is being held in Belmarsh for trial.
The brand operation team also released a file detailing the environmental protection of all the fabrics used for this season's clothing. Vivienne Westwood not only has to defend human rights and freedom of speech, but also the focus of climate change.
04. Prada conceive of sustainable world with recycled nylon
During the SS 20 fashion week in Shanghai, Prada held a forum on "sustainable world" in Shanghai "Rong Zhai" to discuss the content of "recycled nylon", and invited Philippines documentary photographer Hannah Reyes Morales to record the fourth part of its "What We Carry" series.
Prada has launched a unique series of recycled nylon handbags, with its unique recycled nylon "ECONYL" new material to create Prada classic handbags, adhering to the brand environmental protection concept, the whole range of products are made of environmental protection materials, showing the future vision of nylon product line's sustainable development.
"ECONYL" regenerated nylon is a joint work between Prada and Aquafil, a spinning manufacturer. By collecting waste plastics, fishing nets and textile fiber wastes in the ocean and purifying them, the fabrics after use can also be recovered indefinitely through the depolymerization and repolymerization process without affecting the quality of products.
Hannah Reyes Morales and Prada special correspondent Wei Daxun visited the Jinze garment factory in Ganzhou, Jiangxi, Southeast China. The leftover materials were classified according to their materials and shipped regularly to the production base of Aquafil in Shanghai as raw material for producing ECONYL regenerated nylon.
Recycled nylon is a bold move to achieve full sustainability. It is also an important step towards the ultimate goal of Prada, "complete transformation of pure nylon to ECONYL" before 2021, reflecting the importance of Prada group to promote its pursuit of sustainable balance and social culture.
05. Anya Hindmarch "I am a plastic bag" exhibition.
During the hot London Fashion Week, the designer Anya Hindmarch, who was known for creating the I Am Not A Plastic Bag environmental protection bag, announced that the store was closed for 3 days and filled with stores with 90 thousand discarded water bottles, forming a giant installation art called I Am A Am, which quietly launched a revolution in corner shops.
Since 2007, the brand has started the "I Am Not A Plastic Bag" project. Each package of the series is made of innovative cotton blended canvas fabric. Its original body is 32 recycled plastic bottles of 0.5L, and covers the fabric with the environmental protection windshield coating, so as to ensure the quality of the bags, and to express the tenet that "every work can never be discarded".
While focusing on environmental protection, designer Anya Hindmarch also focuses on women's craft. She supported #ChangeAGirlsLife activities for a long time to help young women living in difficult circumstances in the UK to provide jobs, training, further education or entrepreneurship, and to work together with the prince trust fund to help them change their lives.
06. Gucci's parent company, Kai Yun group, signed the fashion contract.
Before the opening of the last G7 summit, Kai Yun group CEO Fran ois-Henri Pinault led 150 brands of 32 fashion companies including Chanel, Prada, Nike, Adidas and H&M to sign the sustainability agreement "Fashion Fashion" with the nature of industry alliance.
According to Fashion Pact, by 2030, 32 companies will eliminate the use of disposable plastics and support textile Innovation to reduce minor fiber pollution and achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions target by 2050, so as to control the global warming temperature range below 1.5 degrees C from now to 2100, and to achieve the goal of restoring natural ecosystems and protecting species on a scientific basis.
Fran C ois-Henri Pinault once said, "the global challenges we face at present are complex. Without borders, only the alliance can overcome them, so we need to bring together the government, enterprises and civil society. I will take the lead in building a large scale industrial alliance to deal with the climate crisis." The Fashion Pact shows that the industry has acknowledged the environmental problems in twenty-first Century, and hopes to take responsibility through collective action and common goals.
07. Fashion environmental protection proposal 2020 new trend of consumption
Implementation of the capsule closet program - as early as the 80s of last century, American designer Donna Karan launched the "capsule" The Wardrobe "plan", the so-called "capsule Wardrobe", is to reduce the quantity of articles in the wardrobe to about 30 pieces after careful selection, leaving only the evergreen style that is not easy to be washed out by the trend, and sorting out the wardrobe before the season and picking out the clothes that can still be worn, so that we can avoid buying unnecessary new products. This is the biggest proposal for the sufferers.
Follow "zero purchase" trend - The Guardian has published an article explaining the benefits of "No-buy Movement" - rather than buying new clothes and beauty products, it is better to make good use of the resources available at hand. For girls who naturally love shopping, the "Low Buy" should be much easier to practice than "Slow Buy".
Implementing the concept of "true retro" - "recycling", which is emphasized by sustainable fashion, is not only limited to making clothing raw materials, but also a hot spot for consumers to support fashion and environmental protection through the innovative use of "second-hand clothing". "Fashion is perishable and style is perpetuating" - the golden sentence of Coco Chanel tells us that the unique charm of classic costumes is never outdated, and that retro items kept at home can also achieve zero cost fashion.
