Epidemic Blockade Promotes Nail Sales In The UK
NPD, a US market research firm, said on Wednesday that online sales of nail products in the United Kingdom increased rapidly, or triggered the "lipstick effect" (lipstick effect) during the new cordon blockade. NPD said online sales of nail products in the United Kingdom had increased by nearly two digits in the first few weeks of the outbreak, and sales increased by 12% in the week from March 16th.
In March 23rd, the British government ordered that all unnecessary business operations be suspended, except for the purchase of necessities, medical treatment and other activities, and that everyone must stay at home. This week because of the stricter blockade, sales of nail products increased by 24% over the same period last year.
Note: "lipstick effect", or "lipstick effect", is an economic phenomenon caused by the economic recession, which is also called "low price product preference". In the economic downturn, people still have a strong desire to buy, instead of buying less expensive luxuries.
In the first week of the blockade, online sales of nail polish and flour oil increased by 102%, online sales of color nail polish increased by 18%, and nail care products online sales increased by 13%. Pink, red and beige nail polish are most popular among consumers.
NPD customer manager Emma Fishwick said, "the increase in online nail products sales shows that nail products may trigger a" lipstick effect ", and consumers are increasingly turning to family self-care and beauty products to ease the tension under the epidemic.
