The National Standard Of Technical Specifications For Child Masks Has Officially Released 19 Main Performance Indicators.

In May 6, 2020, the General Administration of market supervision (SAC) issued the recommended national standard for GB/T 38880 - 2020 "technical specification for child masks". The standard is promulgated.

The recommended national standards for technical specifications for child masks have laid down the basic requirements, appearance quality and testing methods for respirators for children aged 6 to 14 years and below. Meanwhile, 19 main performance indicators, including safety, protection and comfort, have been put forward. Three aspects are safety, protection and comfort. Children's respirators are divided into two categories: child protective masks and child hygiene masks. From the specifications and sizes, referring to the data of Chinese Minors' head and face dimensions (GB/T 26160), three specifications of large (L), medium (M) and small (S) have been determined.

In terms of safety performance, the respirator should be able to cover the mouth, nose and jaws safely and firmly. There should be no sharp sharp edges and sharp edges. It should not affect the field of vision obviously. The raw materials of masks should not be recycled and can cause adverse reactions, and should not be bleached by chlorine. Respirators with breathing valves should be firm and undeformed, and internal parts should not fall off. The belt clip mask band should bear 20 fold without breaking. The inner materials of masks should not be printed or dyed. The printed patterns on the outer surface of the masks should not fade and dissolve the carcinogenic aromatic ammonia dyes. The standard strictly stipulated hazardous substances residues, formaldehyde content is not higher than 20mg/kg; ethylene oxide sterilization residues should not exceed 2 g/g; no mobile fluorescent whitening substances should be detected. The standard also stipulates that microbiological indicators should meet the requirements of disposable hygienic products.

In terms of protection performance, children respirators require particulate matter filtration efficiency of not less than 95%, protective effect is not less than 90%; children's respirators require particulate matter filtration efficiency of not less than 90%, bacterial filtration efficiency of not less than 95%.

In terms of comfort performance, considering respiratory characteristics of children's physiological development stage, the respirator and respirator resistance of children's respirators are not higher than 45Pa, and children's respirators require no ventilation resistance than 30Pa. In terms of comfort, standard masks are recommended.

The two kinds of child masks involving the technical specifications of children's mask provide a good complementary relationship between function and application scenarios, and consider children's rich and varied preferences, and encourage technological innovation and personalized design in addition to the basic requirements and main indicators. The standard was put forward by the China Federation of textile industry. The national textile Standardization Technical Committee came to the conclusion, and the Chinese Textile Industry Association organized the compilation work of medical equipment, personal protection, medical and health, ergonomics, textile materials, testing and other experts.
