Export Of Home Textiles In China In 1-3 2020

Affected by the global epidemic, the export of home textiles in China in the first quarter was the largest in history, with exports of US $4 billion 480 million, down 21.5%, 3.8 percentage points higher than the overall decline in textile and apparel industry.

Exports to the United States and the European Union declined significantly, with a drop of more than the average level.

In the first quarter, the export volume of home textile products to the United States and the European Union was 1 billion 290 million and 760 million US dollars respectively, the decrease was 23.9% and 23.8% respectively, which was 2.3 percentage points higher than the average decline of home textiles, and the export share was 28.9% and 17.1% respectively. Japan and Canada displaced third and fourth of the home textile export market, with a relatively small decline in exports and 510 million and 180 million U.S. dollars in exports, respectively. The decline was 17.4% and 14.1%, respectively, accounting for 11.5% and 4.1% respectively. From intercontinental and regional markets, home textiles exports to Africa were least affected, with exports of US $180 million, down 7.9%. In addition, exports to the "one belt and one way" country were 1 billion 80 million US dollars, down 21.1%.

Towel products dropped the most, and kitchen textiles declined slightly.

Bedding is the first category of home textiles exports. In the first quarter, it exported 1 billion 930 million US dollars, down 23.2%, accounting for 43.1% of total exports. The following are carpet, towel products, curtain products, blankets, kitchen utensils and so on. The export volume is 510 million, 440 million, 440 million, 430 million and 370 million US dollars respectively. Among them, the export of towel products is the largest, 24.5%, and the export of kitchen textiles is smaller than that of 11.3%.

In the top ten provinces and cities, Hebei has a smaller decline and Henan has been on the offensive.

The top five export provinces and cities of home textiles were Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai and Guangdong respectively, with export volume of 1 billion 290 million, 1 billion 90 million, 680 million, 360 million and 280 million US dollars, falling by 18%-23%, five provinces and cities accounted for 82% of total exports, and export provinces and cities were more concentrated. In addition, in the top ten export provinces and cities, Hebei exported 150 million US dollars, a decrease of 1.8%, a relatively small decline, Henan export growth, export 60 million US dollars, an increase of 2.2%.

Border trade has the highest decline, and other modes of trade based on market purchasing trade have increased substantially.

At present, home textile exports are mainly based on general trade. In the first quarter, the general trade exports amounted to 3 billion 820 million US dollars, down 23.4%, accounting for 85% of the export share; processing trade exports amounted to US $250 million, down 23.5%, accounting for 5.7% of the export share; by the closure of some ports, the export of border trade declined sharply, and exports 80 million US dollars, down 35.8%, accounting for 1.7% of the export share. Exports of other trade modes dominated by market purchasing trade increased significantly, with an export volume of US $230 million, an increase of 27.9%, accounting for 5.2% of the export share.
